Austin Gomber allows four over five vs. Cardinals
Austin Gomber didn’t qualify for a decision after allowing four runs in five innings Friday against the Cardinals.
Advice: Gomber — a former St. Louis prospect who came to the Rockies in the Nolan Arenado deal — gave up six hits with one walk, and he struck out four. The left-hander gave up three runs in the first, and while he settled down over the final four frames, the damage was enough to prevent him from picking up a win or a Quality Start. Gomber has been shaky over his last two starts, but he still sports a healthy 3.38 ERA. His next chance is scheduled for Thursday against the Twins.
