    • Boone: Soto ‘wasn’t an option’ Friday vs. Dodgers
Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters after Friday’s extra-innings loss to the Dodgers that Juan Soto (forearm) wasn’t available.

Advice: Soto left Thursday’s game with inflammation in his forearm, and there was some speculation that the outfielder could be available off the bench for Friday’s contest. Several possibilities passed where Soto could have entered, but Boone kept the outfielder on the bench. It’s possible that the slugger could return over the weekend, but the Yankees aren’t going to rush the superstar back. Rotoworld 13 minutes ago

    • Suzuki felt oblique tighten before leaving Friday
Seiya Suzuki left Friday’s game as a precaution due to tightness in his oblique.

Advice: Suzuki has dealt with oblique strains in the past and missed time in 2024 due to one, so the Cubs decided to be as careful as possible when he felt it tighten after being hit in the side. For now the outfielder should be considered day-to-day, but any type of tightness felt over the weekend will likely have the 29-year-old sitting. Rotoworld 16 minutes ago

    • Knocks three hits
De La Cruz went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and a double in Friday's win over Cleveland.

Advice: De La Cruz put the Marlins on the board with his solo shot in the third inning and later smacked another extra-base hit. He's gone deep 11 times this season, though just two of those have come in his last 17 contests. He's slashing .252/.306/.427 with 21 extra-base hits and 28 RBI through 268 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com 21 minutes ago

    • Ozuna smacks two doubles in loss Friday
Marcell Ozuna went 2-for-4 with a run scored and two doubles against the Nationals on Friday.

Advice: On a night when the Braves offense had only four hits against Nationals starter Jake Irvin, Ozuna managed to double off Irvin twice. Ozuna is up to .316 on the season and could be in competition with Shohei Ohtani for the triple crown in the National League if he keeps this up. Rotoworld 41 minutes ago

    • Bryan De La Cruz homers, doubles in Marlins’ win
Bryan De La Cruz went 3-for-4 with a homer and a double Friday to lead the Marlins to a 3-2 win over the Guardians.

Advice: De La Cruz’s hits all left his bat at over 102 mph. He’s batting .252/.306/.427 for the season, which is certainly good enough to keep him in the Marlins lineup but isn’t great for someone who has turned out to be a pretty bad left fielder (he’s currently DHing about two-thirds of the time). One imagines he’ll be one of the many Miami players available in trade talks next month. Rotoworld 44 minutes ago

    • Brayan Rocchio hits first major league homer
Brayan Rocchio supplied both Guardians runs with his first big-league homeer Friday in a loss to the Marlins.

Advice: The homer came in his 276th career plate appearance. He has 192 so far this year, and he’s driven in a total of 11 runs. On the plus side, his defensive numbers have improved in recent weeks, and thanks to a fine 12% walk ate, his .314 OBP isn’t dreadful. Still, it’s hard to see where the fantasy upside might come from here. Rotoworld 44 minutes ago

    • Abrams steals ninth base, scores run in win Friday
CJ Abrams went 1-for-4 with a double, a run scored and a stolen base against the Braves on Friday.

Advice: Abrams’ steal was his ninth of the season. After racking up 47 steals last year, fantasy managers sure would like to see him run more this year. The double was also nice to see as Abrams continues to hit better and for more power than most people expected when he was a prospect. Rotoworld 44 minutes ago

    • Jose Siri smashes sixth home run in loss Friday
Jose Siri went 2-for-3 with two runs scored, a walk and a solo home run against the Orioles on Friday.

Advice: The home run was Siri’s sixth of the year. He’s hitting just .197 on the season and can’t be counted on for batting average. Siri his 25 home runs last year, though. He’s one to keep an eye on if he regains that power stroke this season. Rotoworld Today, 6:57 pm

    • Westburg hits 10th home run in win Friday
Jordan Westburg went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run against the Rays on Friday.

Advice: Westburg’s home run was his 10th of the season. He hit a two-run home run in the eighth inning to give the Orioles a 6-3 lead. The 25-year-old third baseman is having a breakout season for Baltimore. His 133 wRC+ is in the top 25 among qualified hitters this year. Rotoworld Today, 6:54 pm
