    • Sent back to Reno
The Diamondbacks optioned Jacques to Triple-A Reno on Friday.

Advice: One day after coming up from the minors, Jacques will now return to Triple-A following the arrival of Thyago Vieira, who was claimed off waivers from Baltimore on Thursday. Jacques has allowed seven earned runs in just 6.1 innings since joining the Diamondbacks organization in April, and a return to Arizona isn't likely, barring a significant turnaround. • Bullpen on tap
Hall (knee) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Saturday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Advice: The 25-year-old visited Dr. Neal ElAttrache in Los Angeles for a second opinion on his sprained left knee Friday and was recommended to receive a PRP injection, but the left-hander will instead follow the initial medical opinion and get back to throwing. Hall made two one-inning rehab appearances in the minors in late May before he tweaked his knee, and he'll likely require at least a few bullpen sessions before being cleared for game action again. • Receiving third opinion
The second opinion Gasser received on his left elbow Friday conflicted with the first, so he's scheduled to visit a third doctor, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Advice: Brewers manager Pat Murphy said earlier this week that Gasser's initial MRI looked "pretty normal," which implies the second opinion on the flexor strain provided a less encouraging outlook. The 25-year-old is without a timeline for his return but could be facing an extended absence. Rotowire.com 21 minutes ago

    • Surgery recommended for Robert Gasser’s elbow
Robert Gasser will get a third opinion on his elbow after Dr. Neal ElAttrache suggester he undergo surgery.

Advice: Gasser definitely has some damage in his elbow, but it sounds like the first opinion suggested rest and rehab. The highly respected ElAttrache saw things differently. There’s still a scenario in which Gasser comes back and contributes this season, but those who picked him up in mixed leagues can move on. Rotoworld 24 minutes ago

    • Abner Uribe (knee) goes on minor league IL
Abner Uribe was placed on the IL at Triple-A Nashville because of a right knee injury.

Advice: The Brewers will know more after he has an MRI next week. Uribe opened the year as the Brewers’ primary closer, but he was sent down May 1 after amassing a 6.91 ERA in 14 1/3 innings. He allowed just one run but walked seven in 8 2/3 innings in Triple-A before getting hurt. Rotoworld 29 minutes ago

    • Brandon Williamson experiences shoulder setback
Brandon Williamson has been shut down for at least a week after a setback with his shoulder on a rehab assignment.

Advice: Williamson would have been an option to step into the rotation spot vacated by Graham Ashcraft, but that won’t happen now. The left-hander had allowed one run over 13 2/3 innings in four rehab outings. Rotoworld 41 minutes ago

    • Roddery Muñoz to start Saturday for Marlins
Roddery Muñoz will be recalled to start Saturday against the Guardians.

Advice: Muñoz has made three starts for the Marlins this season, somehow giving up just nine runs despite allowing six homers and walking seven in 15 2/3 innings. He could serve as the Marlins’ fifth starter until Edward Cabrera returns, but the team could also send him down and go with Max Meyer or another alternative if he’s ineffective tomorrow. • Confirmed for Saturday start
Bradish will start Saturday's game against Tampa Bay, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Advice: The Orioles' original schedule would have placed Bradish on the mound Thursday against Toronto but he'll get two extra days of rest before taking on the Rays at Tropicana Field. Manager Brandon Hyde said Thursday that Bradish's start wasn't pushed back due to health concerns, so he should be a full go Saturday. Bradish faced the Rays in his last start, yielding five runs over 2.2 innings in a no-decision. Rotowire.com 48 minutes ago
    • Max Scherzer (thumb) to make rehab start Sunday
Max Scherzer will make a rehab start for Triple-A Round Rock on Sunday.

Advice: It will be interesting to see how quickly the Rangers let Scherzer return from the minors. The 39-year-old has made a total of six minor league rehab starts during his 16-year career and never more than two during one IL stay. One would think a typical pitcher would get three or four in his situation (he missed the entire spring after back surgery and then made rehab start in April before injuring his thumb). Scherzer, though, is hardly typical. Rotoworld 59 minutes ago
