    • Spencer Steer slugs go-ahead homer vs. Rockies
Spencer Steer walloped a go-ahead two-run homer in the ninth inning on Wednesday in the Reds’ comeback win over the Rockies.

Advice: Steer was the hero on Wednesday afternoon at Coors Field for Cincinnati as he delivered a clutch go-ahead homer off Rockies closer Jalen Beeks with the Reds down to their final out. It was his seventh round-tripper of the season. Rotoworld Wednesday, 4:31 pm

    • Taking seat Wednesday
Freeman is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Royals.

Advice: Though he's moved out of the leadoff spot since the Guardians brought back Steven Kwan from the injured list Friday, Freeman has continued to thrive with four hits -- including a game-winning home run Tuesday -- and a stolen base over his last four games. Utility man Daniel Schneemann will get the nod in center field Wednesday in what looks to be little more than a maintenance day for Freeman, who had started in each of Cleveland's last 20 games. • Not starting Wednesday
Fry is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Royals.

Advice: Among all players with at least 140 plate appearances, Fry leads the majors with a 1.092 OPS on the season, but he still hasn't quite seized hold of a full-time role in Cleveland. He'll be on the bench for the second time in three games while the Guardians go with Bo Naylor at catcher and Kyle Manzardo at designated hitter. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 12:10 pm

    • Hits game-tying homer
Freeman went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 8-5 win over the Royals.

Advice: Freeman's homer tied the game at 5-5 in the seventh inning. He hit eighth Tuesday, the lowest he's been in the order since May 9, though it was expected he'd see less time in the top-third of the lineup following Steven Kwan's return from a hamstring injury. Freeman is batting a respectable .256 over his last 20 games, though his season average remains at .219 with a .666 OPS, five homers, 24 RBI, 33 runs scored and eight stolen bases through 54 contests. • Red Sox activate Tyler O’Neill, start him in RF
Red Sox activated OF Tyler O’Neill from the 10-day injured list.

Advice: O’Neill, who missed 10 games with a knee injury, is starting in right field and batting fifth against the Braves today. Red Sox manager Alex Cora also said he’d do a fair amount of DHing, with Rob Refsnyder playing right, in the short term. Rotoworld Wednesday, 8:41 am

    • Batting fifth in return from IL
The Red Sox reinstated O'Neill (knee) from the 10-day injured list Wednesday. He'll start in right field and bat fifth in Wednesday's series finale with Atlanta, according to Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald.

Advice: He'll be back in action after spending the minimum 10 days on the shelf with right knee inflammation. Prior to being deactivated, O'Neill had been making most of his starts in left field or at designated hitter, but he could see regular action in right field for the foreseeable future after Wilyer Abreu (ankle) was placed on the IL on Tuesday. • Will be activated Wednesday
Red Sox chief baseball officer Craig Breslow confirmed that O'Neill (knee) will be activated from the 10-day injured list Wednesday, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.

Advice: O'Neill was hitless in a rehab game with Triple-A Worcester on Tuesday, but more importantly, he came out of the contest with no concerns about his right knee, clearing the way for his return from the IL. The 28-year-old spent the minimum 10 days on the IL. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:03 am

    • On base three times
Rengifo went 2-for-3 with a walk, a steal and an RBI in Tuesday's win over the Padres.

Advice: Rengifo plated the Angels' first run with a base hit in the third and wound up being stranded on second after notching his 14th steal and second in as many games. He now has at least a hit in four straight games and is slashing .390/.419/.512 with three RBI, eight runs and a 2:4 BB:K in 43 plate appearances since May 24. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 7:33 am

    • Gets three ABs in rehab start
O'Neill (knee) served as the designated hitter and went 0-for-3 while on rehab assignment for Triple-A Worcester on Tuesday.

Advice: O'Neill kicked off a rehab assignment and played six innings as the DH for the WooSox. The Red Sox are optimistic he'll need only the minimum 10 days while on the injured list. Wednesday represents O'Neill's earliest possible return. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 4:58 am
