    • Collects third win
      Jones (3-4) picked up the win over the Cubs on Thursday, allowing three runs on seven hits while striking out seven over six innings.

      Advice: Jones allowed hits in four of his six innings of work, including a solo homer off the bat of Ian Happ to lead off the second. However, the right-hander still managed to log his third consecutive quality start while also posting at least seven strikeouts for the seventh time in nine outings this season. Jones produced 15 swings and misses on the night, though his seven hits allowed marked a season high. He's won just two of his last six decisions despite carrying a 2.89 ERA on the campaign.       Jansen (1-1) took the loss Thursday against Tampa Bay, allowing two runs on two hits and one walk with two strikeouts over one inning.

      Advice: Jansen took over in the top of the ninth with the game tied, but fell to his first loss of the campaign. After striking out Josh Lowe to start off the inning, Jansen yielded a walk, two singles and a sacrifice fly to consecutive batters as the Rays took a 7-5 advantage and the eventual win.     • Jones with another quality start Thursday
      Jared Jones allowed three earned runs, struck out seven in six innings and picked up the win in the Pirates’ 5-4 victory against the Cubs on Thursday.



      Advice: Jones was top notch once again and earned his third win of the season. He induced 15 whiffs and had a 29 percent CSW on the night. His ERA is 2.89 on the season. Jones is pretty easily a top 20 starting pitcher for the rest of the season. The 22-year-old right-hander is set to face the Giants at home in his next start.

    • Ryan Helsey records 13th save in win over Angels
      Ryan Helsley recorded his 13th save with a scoreless ninth against the Angels on Tuesday.

      Advice: Helsley pitched a whole lot during April, but it definitely hasn’t caused any problems yet; he’s posted his best velocity numbers of the year his last two times out, averaging 101.0 mph with his fastball on Sunday and 100.7 mph tonight. He’s gone 14 straight appearances without allowing an earned run and the one unearned run he’s given up during the stretch was an automatic runner in the 10th inning.       Helsley allowed a hit and struck out two without walking a batter in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Tuesday's 7-6 win over the Angels.

      Advice: Helsley has a win and six saves during his nine-inning scoreless streak, a span that's seen him allowed six hits and one walk while striking out 11. The right-hander is 13-for-14 in save chances this season with a 1.35 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 23:2 K:BB over 20 innings. Helsley seems to be benefiting from being the standalone closer as opposed to part of a committee.       McArthur allowed a run on two hits and struck out three without walking a batter over 1.1 innings to earn the save in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Mariners.

      Advice: McArthur gave up a solo home run to Mitch Haniger in the ninth inning, but he was able to avoid any further damage. The right-hander has surrendered seven runs (six earned) over his last five appearances, and he's been tagged for four homers in that span. He's managed to convert saves in each of his last two outings despite the long balls. McArthur is 10-for-13 in save chances this year while adding a 4.58 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 21:3 K:BB through 19.2 innings.       James McArthur gave up one run while getting the final four outs for a save Tuesday against the Mariners.

      Advice: Mitch Haniger homered off him in the ninth, but the Royals had a three-run lead at the time. It’s the 10th save for McArthur, who has a 4.58 ERA on the season. He’s given up four homers in 19 2/3 innings. Rotoworld Tuesday, 9:25 pm

      Singer (3-2) took the loss against Seattle on Monday, allowing four runs on nine hits and one walk while striking out six batters over five innings.

      Advice: Singer came into Monday having allowed exactly one run in three straight starts, but he couldn't keep that momentum going. The right-hander yielded four runs across the second and third frames, marking just the second time this season he's given up that many runs over an entire game. Singer still has a strong 2.84 ERA and 1.11 WHIP through nine starts on the campaign, and he's tossed at least five frames in each of his outings thus far. Rotowire.com Monday, 11:28 pm

      Brady Singer was charged for four runs over five innings while picking up a loss Monday to the Mariners.

      Advice: Singer was in constant trouble Monday, as he allowed nine hits with one walk against six strikeouts. He gave up a long homer to Luke Raley in the second, and two more runs were surrendered by the right-hander in the third. Singer has been solid for the overwhelming majority of 2024, but this wasn’t his night. A good chance to rebound comes Sunday against the Athletics, assuming the rotation order doesn’t change.
