    • Dominant vs. Atlanta
Pivetta (3-4) earned the win Wednesday over Atlanta, allowing just one hit and two walks while striking out nine over seven scoreless innings.

Advice: It was a stellar effort against a potent Atlanta lineup from Pivetta, who now has nine strikeouts in consecutive starts while punching out eight or more in four of his last five outings. The 31-year-old right-hander lowered his ERA to 3.40 with a 0.94 WHIP and 51:9 K:BB across eight starts (42.1 innings) this season. Pivetta is currently in line for a home matchup with the Phillies early next week in his next outing. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 2:09 pm

    • Nick Pivetta delivers gem in 9-0 win over Braves
Nick Pivetta allowed only one hit over seven innings Wednesday as the Red Sox shut out the Braves 9-0.

Advice: Pivetta fanned nine and walked two in his longest outing of the year. In eight starts this season, he’s been great three times, good three times and bad twice, which probably should have produced something better than a 3-4 record. He might be more valuable for fantasy purposes in the second half of the season, as the Red Sox will likely cash him in before he hits free agency. Rotoworld Wednesday, 1:25 pm

    • Picks up win in return
Ginkel (4-1) returned from a leg injury and picked up Tuesday's win over the Giants. He allowed two hits and struck out one over 1.1 scoreless innings.

Advice: Ginkel made his first appearance since taking a comebacker off the leg Saturday. He was the first reliever up after starter Blake Walston -- 88 pitches, 47 strikes -- labored through 4.1 innings and left with Arizona leading. Pitching this early in games or getting more than three outs are not typically Ginkel's roles, but he had thrown just 14 pitches over the last five days and had the bullets to go a little longer than normal. • Settles in for fifth win
Pepiot (4-2) earned the win over the Marlins on Tuesday, allowing three runs on six hits over six innings. He struck out eight.

Advice: Pepiot got off to an ugly start Tuesday, allowing three runs in the opening frame. However, he'd proceed to blank Miami over his final five frames while allowing just one additional hit while the Rays rallied for a 9-5 victory. The 26-year-old Pepiot now has 15 strikeouts over his last two starts (11.2 innings). His ERA sits at 3.96 on the season with a 0.96 WHIP and 59:16 K:BB across 10 outings (52.1 innings). Pepiot is currently in line for a home matchup with Baltimore early next week in his next start. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 9:50 pm

    • Ryan Pepiot has quality start in win
Ryan Pepiot allowed three runs on six hits in six innings in a win over the Marlins on Tuesday.

Advice: Pepiot struck out eight and walked none and now has 15 strikeouts over 11 2/3 innings over his last two starts. The 26-year-old earned 13 whiffs on his four-seam fastball and 17 whiffs overall on 52 swings for a 33 percent whiff rate and 29 percent CSW. His first season in Tampa Bay has been a success thanks in part to better fastball usage up in the zone. He’ll carry a 3.96 ERA into a tough start against the Orioles next week. • Receives injection in elbow
Blue Jays manager John Schneider said Romano received an anti-inflammatory injection for his right elbow Sunday, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Advice: Romano will be shut down for 3-to-5 days before planning to resume a throwing program later this week. The reliever received a similar injection for the same injury back in late March and wound up missing about three weeks of action, although it's not clear whether a similar timetable is expected this time around. Yimi Garcia collected a save for the Blue Jays in Sunday's win over the Pirates and is expected to serve as the team's primary closer while Romano is out. Rotowire.com Monday, 1:18 pm

    • X-rays come back clean
Ginkel is day-to-day after X-rays on his left knee came back negative following Saturday's 10-5 win over the Mets, Jesse Friedman of GoPHNX.com reports.

Advice: Ginkel took a 98.3 mile-per-hour comebacker to the inside of his left knee during his relief appearance in the sixth inning and was immediately lifted from the contest. Fortunately for Ginkel, he seems to be dealing with nothing more than bruising to his leg, and he disclosed after the game that he's already feeling better. Manager Torey Lovullo expressed optimism that Ginkel could be available out of the bullpen as soon as Sunday's series finale with the Mets, though the Diamondbacks may prefer to stay away from him for another day or two to afford him additional healing time. • Struck by comebacker
Ginkel was hit in the left leg by a comebacker during Saturday's game against the Mets and was removed from the game, Jesse Friedman of GoPHNX.com reports. He threw one perfect inning before the incident.

Advice: Ginkel was the first arm out of the bullpen for the Diamondbacks on Saturday, replacing Slade Cecconi late in the fifth inning. The 30-year-old retired the first two batters he faced before getting hit by a 98 MPH comebacker from Brandon Nimmo, who was still thrown out at first. Bryce Jarvis replaced Ginkel on the mound. • MRI shows no structural damage
Romano (elbow) had an MRI on his right elbow Friday night, which didn't reveal any structural damage, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Advice: Romano was placed on the 15-day injured list with inflammation in his throwing elbow, but he appears to have avoided a significant injury. The 31-year-old will be shut down from throwing for a few days before Toronto will determine what direction the team will go from there. Yimi Garcia is considered the frontrunner to operate as the closer for the Blue Jays in Romano's absence. Rotowire.com Saturday, 12:02 pm
