  • Paul Sewald shuts down Phillies for ninth save
    Paul Sewald pitched a clean ninth inning on Friday to earn the save.

    Advice: There must be something about the city of Philadelphia or Citizens Bank itself that just calms Sewald because he did on Friday what he did four times in the last NLCS: shut the Phillies down.   • Notches second save in as many days
    Hader earned a save against the Astros on Thursday, striking out two batters in one perfect inning.

    Advice: Hader threw 12 of 14 pitches for strikes, including eight whiffs. The save was his second in as many days, marking the second time this season he's accomplished that feat.     Sewald allowed one hit and struck out one during a scoreless ninth to collect the save Thursday against the Nationals.

    Advice: Sewald collected his first save in two weeks, having tossed just 1.1 innings over two appearances during that span prior to Thursday. Despite the inactivity, Sewald needed only eight pitches, tossing six for strikes to thwart the Nationals.   • Josh Hader strikes out two in save vs. White Sox
    Josh Hader struck out two while firing a scoreless frame to get a save against the White Sox on Thursday.

    Advice: Even with the two strikes, Hader needed just 14 pitches — 12 of those strikes — to get the save. The left-hander has now 11 in his first season as a member of the Astros, and he’s been much better than his 3.78 season ERA might indicate. Rotoworld Thursday, 2:04 pm

    Paul Sewald allowed a hit and picked up a strikeout in a scoreless inning to get a save against the Nationals on Thursday.
