• Posts five-out save
Munoz earned the save Tuesday in an 8-5 win over Cleveland, allowing one hit while striking out one over 1.2 innings.

Advice: The Mariners turned to Munoz after Trent Thornton loaded the bases in the eighth. Munoz would proceed to coax a pair of groundouts to get out of the inning before turning in a scoreless ninth, earning his 13th save of the campaign and his third of four or more outs. The 25-year-old Munoz lowered his ERA to a pristine 1.47 this season with a 0.95 WHIP and 42:10 K:BB across 30.2 innings. Rotowire.com 38 minutes ago
  • Locks down seventh save
Diaz earned the save in Tuesday's 7-6 victory over San Francisco. He pitched a scoreless inning, allowing one hit and no walks with no strikeouts.

Advice: After an RBI double by Pete Alonso provided New York with the lead in the top of the ninth inning, Diaz entered in the bottom of the frame to gather his second save since returning from the injured list June 13. The flamethrowing closer yielded a leadoff single to Jonah Heim before inducing a groundball double play and flyout for his seventh save this season. After struggling with an 8.68 ERA over 9.1 innings in May, Diaz looks healthy again and has regained control of the Mets closer role. Rotowire.com 42 minutes ago
  • Yankees return Clayton Andrews to Triple-A
Yankees optioned LHP Clayton Andrews to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Advice: Andrews was just recalled before the game, and he didn’t pitch in his lone night on the roster. The move opens up a spot for Gerrit Cole to return Wednesday. Rotoworld 49 minutes ago
  • Shelled for six runs
Severino did not factor into the decision in Tuesday's 7-6 win over Texas, allowing six runs on eight hits and one walk over 6.1 innings. He struck out one.

Advice: After yielding just one run through four innings, the New York right-hander unraveled in the fifth, allowing five runs on five hits, including two homers. Severino also produced only five whiffs on his way to collecting a season-worst one strikeout. The 30-year-old's velocity on his entire arsenal was down in this outing, anchored by his sinker averaging 94.5 mph, down 1.2 mph. Severino is currently scheduled to make his next start against his former team -- the Yankees -- at home next week. Rotowire.com 50 minutes ago

  • Improves to 6-5
Miller (6-5) earned the win Tuesday against the Guardians, allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits and two walks over 5.2 innings. He struck out two.

Advice: It was another solid outing from Miller, who's now allowed just two earned runs over 12.2 innings in his last two starts. While he's been inconsistent at times this year, the 25-year-old Miller has turned in a respectable 3.46 ERA with a 1.01 WHIP and 82:26 K:BB across 15 starts (88.1 innings). Miller will look to keep rolling in his next outing, currently lined up for this weekend in Miami. Rotowire.com 50 minutes ago

  • Pete Fairbanks exits after comebacker hits hand
Pete Fairbanks left Tuesday’s game in the ninth inning after taking a comebacker off his hand.

Advice: Fairbanks tried some warmup pitches afterwards, but the decision was made to remove him. Hopefully, this will just be a day-to-day injury. Phil Maton replaced him in a tie game. Rotoworld 51 minutes ago
  • Luis Severino gives up six runs to Rangers
Luis Severino was tagged for six runs in 6 1/3 innings by the Rangers on Tuesday.

Advice: Severino struck out one and gave up two homers, which is never a good ratio. His velocity was down a bit tonight, and he wound up with just five missed swings and a 17% CSW. As much twitter concern as there was about Severino after his season debut 2 1/2 months ago, this is probably his most discouraging outing of the season to date. We wouldn’t want to play him in his start against the Yankees next week. Rotoworld 54 minutes ago

  • Edwin Díaz works scoreless ninth for save
Edwin Díaz pitched a scoreless ninth with a one-run lead for his seventh save Tuesday against the Rangers.

Advice: The ninth started with a bloop single that third baseman Mark Vientos probably should have caught in shallow left, but it appeared he got spooked by Brandon Nimmo’s arrival. Fortunately, the ball was hit by Johan Heim, who settled for a single when an average runner might have gotten a double. A double play followed, and Díaz then got a flyout to end the game. • Michael Lorenzen left with no-decision versus Mets
Michael Lorenzen pitched six innings of three-run ball against the Mets on Tuesday.

Advice: Lorenzen left with a three-run lead, but the Texas bullpen couldn’t hold on to it. One imagines he had higher expectations after joining the world champions, but the Rangers are now 4-8 when he pitches, even though his ERA stands at 3.00. Rotoworld 54 minutes ago
