    • Gets save in first outing since IL
Phillips pitched a perfect inning and struck out one to earn the save in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Rockies.

Advice: This was Phillips' first appearance in nearly a month due to a hamstring strain. He looked rust-free, throwing 11 pitches (seven strikes) to set down the bottom of the Rockies' order for his ninth save of the season. Phillips has a 0.61 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 18:4 K:BB over 14.2 innings, and he's yet to take a blown save this year. It doesn't appear he'll be eased into the closer role again, not that he needs to be handled with kid gloves considering his track record in high-leverage spots over the last two years. • Cole Ragans to start on Sunday against Padres
Cole Ragans will start on Sunday against the Padres.

Advice: Ragans will take the ball on regular rest for Sunday’s series finale against San Diego with Brady Singer needing some extra rest as he continues to recover from an illness. Royals manager Matt Quatraro told reporters Saturday that Singer could slot into the rotation for Wednesday’s contest against the Guardians. Rotoworld Saturday, 10:39 am

    • Up to 13 saves
Kimbrel earned the save in a 3-1 win over the Rays on Friday, striking out two in a perfect ninth inning.

Advice: Kimbrel has now gone 7.2 innings without allowing a hit, recording 10 strikeouts in that span while improving to 13-for-16 in save chances this year. He's lowered his ERA to 3.00 with a 0.95 WHIP and 31:9 K:BB across 21 innings. Rotowire.com Friday, 8:31 pm
    • Craig Kimbrel nabs 13th save
Craig Kimbrel struck out two in a scoreless ninth inning in a win over the Rays on Friday.

Advice: Kimbrel’s fantastic season continued Friday with an overpowering ninth inning. The save tied him with Raisel Iglesias for the sixth-most in the league as he’s turned black the clock so far this year. Rotoworld Friday, 7:28 pm
    • Back from IL
The Dodgers reinstated Phillips (hamstring) from the 15-day injured list Friday, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Advice: Phillips was forced onto the injured list May 5 after suffering a right hamstring strain. He's since thrown 1.2 innings of shutout ball while striking out three batters and walking none during a rehab assignment with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga. The 29-year-old right-hander should immediately reclaim his spot as the Dodgers' closer, a role he thrived in prior to getting injured. Elieser Hernandez was designated for assignment in a corresponding move. Rotowire.com Friday, 4:20 pm

    • Dodgers activate Evan Phillips from 15-day IL
Dodgers activated RHP Evan Phillips from the 15-day injured list.

Advice: The 29-year-old closer finally returns to the Dodgers’ bullpen after landing on the injured list with a hamstring strain. While Daniel Hudson and Blake Treinen did a nice job in his absence, expect Phillips to jump right into the team’s ninth-inning role. On the season, he holds a minuscule 0.66 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and a 17/4 K/BB ratio over 13 2/3 innings of work while recording eight saves. Rotoworld Friday, 3:57 pm

    • Fans nine batters in defeat
Pivetta (2-4) took the loss against Detroit on Thursday, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks while striking out nine batters over 5.1 innings.

Advice: Pivetta's nine punchouts were his most since his season debut March 29, and the outing was a nice bounce-back from his five-run, 3.1-inning start his previous time on the mound. However, Boston's offense couldn't generate any runs, saddling the right-hander with his fourth loss. Pivetta has had a couple poor starts this season, but he's allowed two or fewer earned runs in five of his seven appearances. Rotowire.com Thursday, 10:49 pm

    • Nick Pivetta strikes out nine, still takes loss
Nick Pivetta struck out nine while allowing just two runs over 5 2/3 innings, but still was charged with a loss Thursday against the Tigers.

Advice: Pivetta gave up only three hits while walking two. He allowed a solo homer to Akil Baddoo, and another run crossed on an RBI single from Mark Canha. The right-hander has struck out at least eight batters in three of his last four chances, and he’s given up no more than two runs in those outings. Pivetta can drive fantasy managers mad with the occasional clunker, but the strikeouts are usually there. He’ll take a 4.08 ERA into his next scheduled outing against Atlanta on Wednesday.
