      Acuna underwent surgery Wednesday to repair the torn ACL in his left knee, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

      Advice: The reigning NL MVP had already been ruled out for the season, but Acuna will now be able to begin rehabbing from the injury he suffered May 26. The 26-year-old underwent ACL surgery on his right knee in 2021, so he's familiar with the process.       Encarnacion-Strand (wrist) had a follow-up exam with Reds doctors Wednesday, and he was cleared to take the next step in his rehab, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.

      Advice: While that would seem to be good news for Encarnacion-Strand, who was diagnosed with a right ulnar styloid fracture May 8, he opted to get a second opinion, putting his rehab on hold for the moment.       Vaughn went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's 14-2 loss to the Red Sox.

      Advice: Vaughn has hit safely in his last six games, going 8-for-23 (.348) in that span. He dealt with a sprained left ring finger to begin June, but it hasn't slowed him down since he was cleared to return.       X-rays came back negative on Nico Hoerner’s hand after being hit by a pitch during Thursday’s game against the Reds.

      Advice: Hoerner remained in the contest and appears to have avoided serious injury after being plunked on the hand by a 96.5 mph fastball from Reds starter Hunter Greene during the early stages of the game.       Evan Phillips was charged with three runs in the eighth inning on Thursday in a non-save situation against the Pirates.

      Advice: Phillips got the call for his first appearance in nearly a week with the Dodgers leading by seven runs at the time and wound up surrendering four hits, including a three-run homer to Oneil Cruz. Fortunately, his struggles didn’t end up impacting the final result of the contest, but it certainly doesn’t do fantasy managers any favors in the ratio departments.       Christian Encarnacion-Strand (wrist) has been cleared to resume baseball activities.

      Advice: Encarnacion-Strand has been on the shelf since early May due to a right wrist fracture. The biggest question for fantasy managers moving forward is whether his prodigious over-the-fence power will be adversely impacted. The 24-year-old slugger is going to need several weeks to ramp back up fully prior to returning to Cincinnati, but it’s possible he’s back before next month’s All-Star break.       Ronald Acuña Jr. underwent surgery on Wednesday to repair a torn ACL in his left knee.

      Advice: Dr. Neal ElAttrache performed the procedure in Los Angeles. Braves manager Brian Snitker told reporters Thursday that Acuña will stay in Los Angeles for “a month or more” at the outset of his rehabilitation process, which is expected to carry into the early portion of next year.
