    • Lifts fourth homer
Lowe went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run and a double in Saturday's 6-5 loss to the Orioles.

Advice: Lowe has four multi-hit efforts over his last nine games, a span that also includes two of his four homers this year. The first baseman has never displayed elite power, but his .369 slugging percentage for the season is low even by his standard. He's at least been fairly consistent at the plate, batting .262 with 27 RBI, 25 runs scored, two stolen bases and 11 doubles over 62 contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:18 pm

    • Works around two walks for save
Kimbrel worked around two walks in a scoreless and hitless inning to earn the save in Saturday's 6-5 win over the Rangers.

Advice: Kimbrel, who hadn't walked multiple batters in an outing since May 8, was able to pitch his way out of trouble. He's allowed two runs (one earned) while posting a 13:5 K:BB over 9.1 innings in June, converting six of his seven chances this month. Kimbrel is up to 19 saves with a 2.37 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 44:14 K:BB through 30.1 innings overall. Kimbrel has pitched three of the last four days, so he may not be available if a save situation arises Sunday. With Jacob Webb, Yennier Cano and Cionel Perez also having pitched Friday and Saturday, there could be an opportunity for Dillon Tate or Bryan Baker to get a look in a high-leverage spot. • Lowe has three hits, two-run homer in loss
Nathaniel Lowe went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer in a loss Saturday to the Orioles.

Advice: Lowe also doubled. The homer was a two-run shot that got the Rangers back in the game to make it a 5-4 score in the sixth. The 28-year-old has not shown a ton of power thus far in 2024, as his .262 average and .348 on-base percentage have been dragged down by just four roundtrippers and a .369 slugging mark over 214 at-bats. • Craig Kimbrel works around two walks for save
Craig Kimbrel walked two, but didn’t give up a run while picking up a save Saturday against the Rangers.

Advice: Kimbrel walked Leody Taveras to lead off the inning and then gave up a stolen base to the outfielder, and he then got the next two outs. He issued another free pass to Josh Smith, but he was able to get Adolis Garcia to fly out and pick up the save. Crisis averted. Kimbrel has 19 saves and a 2.37 ERA in the first half of 2024. • Triumphant in return
Gallen (6-4) allowed a hit and a walk while striking out seven over six shutout innings to earn the win over the Athletics on Saturday.

Advice: Gallen returned from a hamstring injury that cost him nearly a month and took full advantage of a soft matchup. This was the fourth time this season he's gone six innings in a start without allowing a run. He's also posted five quality starts in his last six outings, with the lone exception being the May 30 start that ended with the aforementioned hamstring injury before he could record an out. The right-hander is now at a 2.83 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 67:16 K:BB through 63.2 innings over 12 starts. Gallen threw 77 pitches (50 strikes) Saturday, so he should be good for a full workload his next time out, which is tentatively projected for a road outing at San Diego. • Ragans allows five runs in loss Saturday
Cole Ragans allowed five runs in 4 2/3 innings and took the loss against the Guardians on Saturday.

Advice: Ragans gave up six hits, walked one and struck out six. This start broke a streak of five consecutive quality starts for Ragans. He has a 3.33 ERA and 3.11 xFIP on the year. The 26-year-old left-hander is set to face the Rockies on the road next week.

    • Ian Happ swats go-ahead two-run homer vs. Cubs
Ian Happ went 1-for-2 while hitting a go-ahead two-run homer to help the Cubs to a 5-3 win over the Brewers on Saturday.

Advice: With the score tied at 3-3, Happ blistered a homer to right-center with Seiya Suzuki on board to give the Cubs the two-run lead and ultimately the victory. It’s the second big roundtripper for Happ in three days, as he hit a go-ahead homer in the 10th against San Francisco on Thursday. Over his 78 games, Happ is now hitting .231/.346/.422 with 11 homers, 44 RBI and seven stolen bases. A solid — if unspectacular — first half. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:47 pm

    • Gallen throws six shutout innings in win vs. A’s
Zac Gallen allowed no runs in six innings and got the win in the Diamondbacks’ 3-0 victory over the Athletics on Saturday.

Advice: Gallen gave up one hit, walked one and struck out seven. Even though the Athletics offense is nothing to write home about, Gallen was excellent in his first major league start since May 30th. Gallen has finished in the top five of the Cy Young award voting each of the last two years and appeared to have similar form in this start. The 28-year-old right-hander is set to face the Padres on the road next week.

    • Luke Raley (shoulder) returns to lineup Saturday
Luke Raley (shoulder) returned to the Mariners’ starting lineup on Saturday.

Advice: Raley missed each of the team’s previous two games due to soreness in his shoulder. He’s right back out there on Saturday night though, batting fifth and starting in left field against Pablo Lopez and the Twins. The 29-year-old has hit .253/.299/.444 with nine homers, 22 RBI and five stolen bases in 212 plate appearances with the M’s this season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:11 pm
