    • Roddery Muñoz to start Saturday for Marlins
Roddery Muñoz will be recalled to start Saturday against the Guardians.

Advice: Muñoz has made three starts for the Marlins this season, somehow giving up just nine runs despite allowing six homers and walking seven in 15 2/3 innings. He could serve as the Marlins’ fifth starter until Edward Cabrera returns, but the team could also send him down and go with Max Meyer or another alternative if he’s ineffective tomorrow. • Confirmed for Saturday start
Bradish will start Saturday's game against Tampa Bay, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Advice: The Orioles' original schedule would have placed Bradish on the mound Thursday against Toronto but he'll get two extra days of rest before taking on the Rays at Tropicana Field. Manager Brandon Hyde said Thursday that Bradish's start wasn't pushed back due to health concerns, so he should be a full go Saturday. Bradish faced the Rays in his last start, yielding five runs over 2.2 innings in a no-decision. Rotowire.com 13 minutes ago
    • Max Scherzer (thumb) to make rehab start Sunday
Max Scherzer will make a rehab start for Triple-A Round Rock on Sunday.

Advice: It will be interesting to see how quickly the Rangers let Scherzer return from the minors. The 39-year-old has made a total of six minor league rehab starts during his 16-year career and never more than two during one IL stay. One would think a typical pitcher would get three or four in his situation (he missed the entire spring after back surgery and then made rehab start in April before injuring his thumb). Scherzer, though, is hardly typical. Rotoworld 24 minutes ago

    • Resuming rehab assignment Sunday
Scherzer (back/arm) will resume a rehab assignment with Triple-A Round Rock on Sunday, Jeff Wilson of RangersToday.com reports.

Advice: Scherzer had to be pulled off his initial rehab assignment in early May following a nerve problem with his throwing arm, but he's been trending in the right direction in recent weeks after receiving a cortisone injection. The 39-year-old was initially placed on the injured list due to his recovery from offseason back surgery. Scherzer threw 40 pitches in a live batting practice session earlier this week, so he should be ready for at least that many pitches Sunday. He will need multiple rehab starts before rejoining the Rangers' rotation, but a return before the end of June would seem to be in play. Rotowire.com 26 minutes ago

    • Shut down from throwing
Reds manager David Bell said Friday that Williamson (shoulder) will be shut down from throwing for at least seven days and is evaluating his potential options, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Advice: The left-hander was pulled off his rehab assignment due to persistent issues with his shoulder, and he'll stop throwing entirely for at least a brief period. Williamson has yet to pitch for the Reds this season due to the shoulder sprain, and it's now questionable whether he'll be able to return ahead of the All-Star break in mid-July. • Another rehab start coming
Cole (elbow) will make a rehab start with Double-A Somerset on Sunday, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Cole made his first rehab appearance Tuesday with Somerset, firing 3.1 scoreless innings with five strikeouts. He threw 45 pitches and touched 97 miles per hour, which is in line with his normal velocity. Cole should see his pitch count lightened Sunday, though he'll likely need at least one more rehab outing before coming off the 60-day IL. Rotowire.com 36 minutes ago

    • Josiah Gray (elbow) scheduled for first rehab start
Josiah Gray will make his first rehab start Sunday for low-A Frederickburg.

Advice: He’s slated for at least two rehab starts and probably will need more. The right-hander has missed two months with a flexor strain in his elbow. Rotoworld 41 minutes ago

    • Cade Cavalli (elbow) doing sidework with Nationals
Cade Cavalli’s minor league rehab assignment is on pause as he travels with the major league club.

Advice: Cavalli, on the way back from Tommy John surgery, threw 2 2/3 scoreless innings in Rookie ball on May 20 and then allowed two runs in 2 2/3 innings in high-A ball on May 30. Rather than keep him in the minors, the Nationals currently have him throwing with the major league team. It suggests there’s no real chance of him pitching in the majors before the All-Star break, not that it ever seemed very likely anyway. Rotoworld 43 minutes ago

    • Throwing 50-55 pitches in rehab
Gray (elbow) will throw 50-55 pitches during a rehab start with Single-A Fredericksburg on Sunday, Bobby Blanco of MASNSports.com reports.

Advice: Gray got up to 76 pitches during a live BP session prior to being sent on a rehab assignment but will be limited to 50-55 pitches in his first appearance. If all goes well Sunday, Gray will head to Double-A Harrisburg for another rehab start. Gray will likely need at least one more outing after the start at Double-A , making late June a feasible timeline for return. Rotowire.com 43 minutes ago
