    • Paul Goldschmidt slugs solo homer in loss
Paul Goldschmidt went 1-for-4 with a solo homer against the Reds on Saturday.

Advice: Goldschmidt took Carson Spiers deep for a solo homer in the sixth inning for his only hit of the game as the Cardinals fell to the Reds. The 36-year-old slugger is up to 11 homers while slashing .228/.298/.367 with 39 runs scored, 33 RBI, and four steals across 344 plate appearances. Rotoworld 20 minutes ago

    • Nolan Jones goes deep in loss to White Sox
Nolan Jones went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer against the White Sox on Saturday.

Advice: Jones took Jonathan Cannon deep for a two-run shot in the fifth inning. It was only his third home run of the season as he’s struggled to a .192/.298/.323 slash line, striking out 33.1 percent of the time across 151 plate appearances. Rotoworld 53 minutes ago

    • Nears return to baseball activities
Trout (knee) is getting close to returning to baseball activities, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Trout experienced some soreness in his left knee in mid-June but said this week that he's feeling better. Angels manager Ron Washington consequently indicated that the future Hall of Famer is nearing a return to baseball activities, though he didn't specify the nature of those activities or a clear timeframe. Trout has been working out on a stationary bike and elliptical, though he remains several weeks away from being ready to be activated from the injured list. Rotowire.com Today, 12:41 pm

    • Beginning to ramp up rehab
Muncy (oblique) took swings off a tee, fielded groundballs and did some throwing Friday, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Advice: Muncy's progress from a Grade 1 right oblique strain has been slow to the extent that he was transferred to the 60-day IL on June 21. However, the third baseman appears to be beginning to ramp up, and the Associated Press reports that his next step will be to take live batting practice before potentially beginning a rehab assignment. Muncy isn't expected to return to the Dodgers' lineup until after the All-Star break. Rotowire.com Today, 9:22 am

    • Max Muncy (oblique) resumes swinging
Max Muncy (oblique) progressed to taking swings off a tee earlier this week.

Advice: Muncy isn’t eligible to return from the 60-day injured list until after the All-Star break in a couple weeks, but he’s starting to make some progress towards a second-half return. The veteran corner infielder’s recovery from a right oblique strain that he suffered back in mid-May has gone much slower than originally anticipated, and it’s certainly had a negative impact on the Dodgers’ overall offensive output. • Homers in Friday's loss
Correa went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's 3-2 extra-inning loss to the Mariners.

Advice: Correa left Thursday's game with a bruised right wrist, but he didn't end up missing time. The homer was his ninth of the season and got him to the 40-RBI mark this year, though it was all the run production the Twins could muster in Friday's game. The shortstop has 12 multi-hit efforts over his last 21 games, going 36-for-83 (.434) in that span. For the year, he's at a .312/.381/.506 slash line across 64 contests. • Carlos Correa hits two-run homer vs. Mariners
Carlos Correa connected on a two-run homer in a loss to the Mariners on Friday.

Advice: The good run for Correa continues, as he broke up Logan Gilbert’s shutout in the sixth inning with a two-run blast over the field-field fence in the sixth inning. That’s nine homers now on the season for the 29-year-old, and he also produced a single in what has been an extraordinary June for Correa. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:32 pm
    • Starting Friday
Correa (wrist) is playing shortstop and batting second Friday against Seattle.

Advice: Correa was removed from Thursday's game after being hit by a pitch, but his bruised right wrist won't force him to miss a start. He went 4-for-9 with four runs and two RBI during this week's series against Arizona. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:10 pm
    • Carlos Correa back in lineup on Friday vs. M’s
Carlos Correa (wrist) is in the lineup for Friday night’s series opener against the Mariners.

Advice: The 29-year-old shortstop was drilled in the right wrist by a fastball during Thursday’s game against the Diamondbacks. Correa told reporters afterwards that he was fine though and that he planned to play on Friday, and true to his word he’s in the lineup and batting second against Logan Gilbert and the M’s on Friday evening in Seattle. On the season, Correa is slashing a healthy .309/.380/.494 to go along with eight homers and 38 RBI in 267 plate appearances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:08 pm
