    • Jackson Holliday resumes mashing at Triple-A
Orioles 2B/SS prospect Jackson Holliday went 3-for-6 with an RBI on Tuesday for Triple-A Norfolk.

Advice: Holliday flopped in his first taste of the big leagues as Baltimore continued to challenge him from a development standpoint. However, that shouldn’t diminish fantasy managers’ long-term optimism. The latest multi-hit effort raises his Triple-A slash line to .321/.451/.554 with nine extra-base hits and one steal through 13 contests. He’ll get some extended time in the minors to continue ironing out contact issues and struggles against left-handed pitching, but it’s only a matter of time before he gets another shot in Baltimore. • Carlos Correa (intercostal) officially off of IL
Twins activated INF Carlos Correa off the 10-day injured list.

Advice: Correa ended up missing a couple of weeks with his intercostal strain. The infielder is back with Austin Martin heading back to Triple-A in the corresponding transaction. Now that Correa is back, he’ll play everyday at shortstop and hit in the middle of the Minnesota lineup. Rotoworld Monday, 1:15 pm

    • Comes off IL
The Twins reinstated Correa (intercostal) from the 10-day injured list Monday.

Advice: Correa ended up spending about two and a half weeks on the IL after being deactivated April 13 with a right intercostal strain. Though he wasn't sent out on a minor-league rehab assignment prior to being activated, Correa should immediately take back an everyday role at shortstop as he rejoins the active roster ahead of Monday's series opener versus the White Sox. Outfielder Austin Martin was optioned to Triple-A St. Paul in a corresponding move. Rotowire.com Monday, 10:58 am

    • Slated to return Monday
The Twins will activate Correa (oblique) from the 10-day injured list prior to Monday's game versus the White Sox, Bobby Nightengale of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Advice: Correa will skip a rehab assignment and go ahead and rejoin the major-league roster instead following a two-plus-week absence with a right intercostal strain. Willi Castro has been operating as the Twins' everyday shortstop since Correa went down with the injury but will now re-enter the mix for starts at third base and also the outfield. • Correa (intercostal) expected to be activated Mon.
Carlos Correa (intercostal) is expected to be activated Monday.

Advice: Nothing is official yet, but Dan Hayes of The Athletic also hears that Austin Martin is expected to be optioned to Triple-A. Correa has been sidelined for a couple of weeks with a right intercostal strain, and will try to help keep the Twins’ hot streak going. Rotoworld Monday, 10:24 am

    • Carlos Correa (intercostal) takes grounders Friday
Carlos Correa (intercostal) took ground balls on the field prior to Friday’s game against the Angels.

Advice: Twins’ manager Rocco Baldelli told reporters earlier in the week that Correa was close to resuming baseball activities, and it’s encouraging to see him back out on the field. The Twins are going to continue to play it cautiously here, but it’s nice to see him taking steps in the right direction. Rotoworld Friday, 5:31 pm

    • Sent back to Triple-A
The Orioles optioned Holliday to Triple-A Norfolk on Friday.

Advice: The top prospect made his big-league debut April 10 in Boston to much fanfare, but he looked entirely overmatched at the plate in his first couple weeks of MLB action. Holliday went 2-for-34 with two walks, five runs and 18 strikeouts in 10 games, so the Orioles opted to return him to Norfolk. The 20-year-old could rejoin Baltimore for another look later in the season, but for now he'll head back to Triple-A, where he posted a 1.077 OPS in 56 plate appearances to start the year. • Orioles option Jackson Holliday to Triple-A
Orioles optioned 2B/SS Jackson Holliday to Triple-A Norfolk.

Advice: There was a ton of excitement for Baltimore’s top prospect to join the major league. However, the 20-year-old got off to a really cold start and the team is making the decision to send him back to the minors. Holliday had an excellent spring training, but that didn’t correlate to the regular season where he had just two hits in his 36 plate appearances in his 10 games with the Orioles. Baseball is a tough sport and sometimes hitting the reset button is the best option for a struggling young player. Rotoworld Friday, 10:22 am

    • Could return soon
Correa (oblique) said Wednesday he could return during the Twins' upcoming road trip, which begins Friday against the Angels and runs through next Wednesday against the White Sox, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Correa did some glove work and took swings Wednesday as he ramps up his baseball activities, and there's a chance he returns from the injured list without a minor-league rehab assignment. The star shortstop's progress over the next few days should provide a better indication of whether a rehab stint will be necessary. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 3:24 pm
