    • Taking seat against lefty Sunday
Cruz is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mets.

Advice: The shortstop was hit by an Edwin Diaz fastball in the ninth inning Saturday, but there's been no indication Cruz sustained a significant injury from being plunked. Even so, the Pirates will give the lefty-hitting Cruz the afternoon off Sunday while southpaw Sean Manaea takes the hill for the Mets. Jared Triolo will check in at shortstop for Cruz, who had started in each of the previous six games while going 8-for-22 with two home runs, one double, three walks, one stolen base, five RBI and three runs. • Home run, triple in win
Ohtani went 2-for-2 with a home run, a triple, two runs scored and a stolen base in Saturday's win over Milwaukee. He also drew two walks.

Advice: Ohtani drew a leadoff walk in his first trip to the plate before coming home on a Will Smith home run in the following at-bat. The superstar slugger then swiped his 18th bag of the season in the second inning after being hit by a pitch and later added a home run of his own to extend the Dodgers' lead to two runs in the eighth. It marked his second long ball this month and his 28th on the campaign, which is good for second in the majors behind only Aaron Judge. The triple was Ohtani's third of the season and his first since May 25. Rotowire.com Today, 6:15 am

    • Homers again
Steer went 1-for-3 with a home run and an additional run in Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Tigers.

Advice: Steer homered for a third straight game when he launched a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning. He's up to 13 home runs and a team-high 57 RBI. Rotowire.com Today, 6:02 am

    • Returning from rehab assignment
Nootbaar (oblique) said he has finished his rehab assignment with Triple-A Springfield and is heading to St. Louis, Rob Rains of StLSportsPage.com reports. It's unclear if Nootbaar will join the Cardinals in Washington or wait for the team to return Tuesday.

Advice: Nootbaar had a postgame phone call with Cardinals manager Oli Marmol on Saturday to determine whether or not the outfielder was ready to return from his assignment, which resulted in Nootbaar being brought back from Springfield. The Cardinals are finishing up a road series with the Nationals on Monday before returning to St. Louis for a five-game homestand. However, it's unknown at this point if Nootbaar will join the team before it returns home. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:00 pm

    • Shohei Ohtani fills up box score in win Saturday
Shohei Ohtani homered, tripled, walked twice, was hit by a pitch, stole a base and scored a run as the Dodgers triumphed over the Brewers on Saturday evening in Los Angeles.

Advice: Ohtani started the home half of the first inning by working a walk off of Freddy Peralta. He then rode home on Will Smith’s two-run blast. The 30-year-old superstar was hit by a pitch with two outs in the second inning and swiped second base, but the Dodgers were unable to cash him in. He then crushed a two-out triple off of Bryse Wilson in the sixth inning but was stranded there. Ohtani also crushed a 430-foot (109.9 mph EV) solo shot off of Bryan Hudson in the eighth inning that extended the Dodgers’ lead to 5-3. He finished the night 2-for-2 officially and is now hitting .316/.402/.643 with 28 homers, 65 RBI and 18 stolen bases on the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:16 pm

    • Cruz blasts 13th home run in loss to Mets Saturday
Oneil Cruz went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run against the Mets on Saturday.

Advice: Cruz’ home run was his 13th of the season. He hit a two-run shot off David Peterson in the second inning. Cruz was hitting just .145 with two home runs in 76 at-bats against left-handed pitching entering Saturday. He’s hitting .244 with a .737 OPS and 39 RBI on the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:34 pm

    • Spencer Steer homers and walks in defeat
Spencer Steer homered and walked in a loss to the Tigers on Saturday.

Advice: Steer swatted a solo shot in the ninth inning, which is good, but it came with the Reds down 5-2, which is bad for Cincinnati and unimportant for fantasy managers. He’s really swung the bat well as of late while vastly improving his still slightly-underwhelming slash of .243/.336/.435. The 13 homers and 13 steals sure have helped, however. • Could return to big club Sunday
Cardinals manager Oli Marmol said Saturday that he will have a postgame call with Nootbaar (oblique) to determine whether the 26-year-old is ready to return from his rehab assignment with Triple-A Springfield, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Katie Woo of The Athletic reported Friday that Nootbaar was expected to remain in Springfield over the weekend to work on his timing. In his last rehab outing Friday, Nootbaar went 2-for-5 with a solo home run, and if he and Marmol agree that more reps in the minors aren't needed, a return to the Cardinals could happen as early as Sunday in Washington. Prior to his injury, Nootbaar was slashing .234/.337/.404 with five home runs and 19 RBI across 164 major-league plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:09 pm

    • Out against LHP
Lowe isn't in the Rays' lineup for Saturday's game against the Rangers, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: Southpaw Andrew Heaney will start on the mound for Texas, so the left-handed bat of Lowe will begin Saturday's contest on the bench, opening up right field for Jonny DeLuca. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:00 am
