      Shohei Ohtani went 3-for-5 with a solo homer and two RBI on Saturday in the Dodgers’ lopsided win over the Braves.

      Advice: Ohtani connected for a third-inning round-tripper off Braves starter Bryce Elder and also added an RBI single in the ensuing frame. The 29-year-old two-way superstar has been phenomenal in his Dodgers debut so far, batting .345/.411/.633 with 28 runs scored, eight homers, 22 RBI and seven steals in 159 plate appearances.       Ohtani went 1-for-3 with a run, an RBI, two walks and two stolen bases Friday in a 4-3 extra-innings victory versus Atlanta.

      Advice: Ohtani's first theft came in the third inning, and it led to Los Angeles' first run, as Will Smith followed with a two-out RBI single. It looked like Ohtani would be picked off in the eighth frame, but Matt Olson mishandled the throw to first base, allowing the Japanese superstar to make it to second base safely. Ohtani later came up with a huge hit in the bottom of the 10th, stroking a one-out single to center field to plate the tying run after Atlanta had scored in the top of the frame. Ohtani continues to put up big numbers for the Dodgers and for fantasy managers, as he's slashing .336/.405/.612 with seven homers, 20 RBI, 26 runs and seven steals (in seven attempts) through 153 plate appearances.       Contreras went 3-for-3 with a double, two runs scored and a walk in Friday's win over the White Sox.

      Advice: Contreras scored runs in the first and fifth innings, both coming via Nolan Arenado doubles. Since his last multi-hit game April 17, Contreras had been stuck in a 9-for-43 (.209) slump over 12 games.       Willson Contreras went 3-for-3 and scored two runs with a stolen base against the White Sox on Friday.

      Cruz went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's 3-2 loss to the Rockies.

      Advice: The 25-year-old shortstop had gone 17 straight games without a homer coming into Friday and nearly made it 18. but he got hold of a Jalen Beeks changeup in the ninth inning to make things close for the Pirates. It was Cruz's fourth long ball of the season and his first off a southpaw, and the RBI were his first since April 22.     • Oneil Cruz hits fourth homer versus Rockies
      Oneil Cruz hit a two-run homer to provide the only scoring for the Pirates against the Rockies on Friday.

      Advice: Unfortunately, the Pirates were down three in the ninth at the time. To go along with his 111.7-mph homer, Cruz also had a 111-3 mph line drive, that unfortunately was hit right at the center fielder, and a 103.3-mph groundout.     • Mike Trout undergoes successful knee surgery
      Mike Trout underwent successful surgery on Friday to repair the meniscus tear in his left knee.

      Advice: Officially, Trout underwent a partial medial meniscectomy. While there’s still no official timetable for his return, the Angels remain optimistic that he’ll be able to return to the lineup at some point during the 2024 season. Unfortunately, that leaves fantasy managers in leagues without injured list spots having to carry a zero on the bench for an indefinite amount of time, or risk the pain of throwing him back into the free agent pool and not being able to reacquire him when/if he does return.     • Undergoes surgery
      Trout underwent surgery to repair the meniscus in his left knee Friday, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

      Advice: The three-time American League MVP suffered the injury Monday against the Phillies, and there wasn't much of a delay before he went under the knife.     • Provides lone run in loss
      Contreras went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 4-1 loss to the Tigers.

      Advice: Contreras also struck out three times Wednesday for the third consecutive game. He'll likely be happy to put the Tigers in the rear-view mirror after going 1-for-13 with nine strikeouts during the three-game series in Detroit. That poor stretch has dropped Contreras to a .258/.373/.505 slash line on the year, and he's added five homers, 10 RBI, 14 runs scored, eight doubles and a stolen base through 110 plate appearances.
