Pablo López delivered a dominant performance in Saturday afternoon’s victory over the Red Sox, piling up eight strikeouts over six innings of one-run baseball.

Advice: The 28-year-old right-hander scattered just five hits and one walk on the afternoon. The lone tally against him came as Tyler O’Neill smacked a two-out double in the opening inning and Wilyer Abreu followed with a run-scoring single. Aside from that, he was in complete control. López got 19 swings and misses on 99 pitches on the afternoon — 11 of those on his fastball — while posting a strong CSW of 31 percent. Aaron Civale was knocked around in a no-decision against the Mets on Friday evening, giving up seven runs on six hits across his 4 2/3 innings of work.

Advice: Civale punched out five batters on the night while allowing one base on balls. The Mets got to him for three runs in the second inning on a three-run blast off the bat of Brett Baty. He then settled in and was staked to a 9-3 lead heading into the fifth inning. That’s when the wheels came off the tracks. There, he allowed four more runs and was chased from the game, just one out shy of qualifying for a victory. Civale got 11 swings and misses on 77 pitches on the night, registering a strong CSW of 35 percent. Pivetta (elbow) allowed four runs on three hits and four walks while striking out five over three-plus innings for Triple-A Worcester on Thursday.

Advice: Pivetta threw 62 pitches in the first and possibly only start while on a rehab assignment. He ran into immediate trouble, walking the first two batters of the game then giving up three straight singles. He settled in after that, retiring the next nine batters, before he was pulled following another two walks to lead off the fourth inning. "Repertoire felt good, just wasn't throwing a ton of strikes," Pivetta told Tommy Cassell of the Worcester Telegram & Gazette. "I have some mechanical adjustments to work on but we'll be fine." Red Sox manager Alex Cora previously indicated Pivetta would need just one rehab start, and if that's the case, the right-hander is on schedule for next week's two-game set against Atlanta on Tuesday or Wednesday. The Diamondbacks transferred Kelly (shoulder) to the 60-day injured list Thursday.

Advice: Kelly was placed on the 15-day IL on April 23 after sustaining a teres major strain in his right shoulder. Due to his transfer to the 60-day IL, Kelly will be on the shelf until at least late June, and his rehab progress over the next few weeks could determine whether the right-hander will need more time beyond that window.
