    • Not starting Thursday
Turner isn't in Toronto's lineup for Thursday's game against the Tigers.

Advice: Turner will get a breather Thursday after reaching base three times during Wednesday's win over the White Sox. Daniel Vogelbach will fill in as the Jays' DH and bat fifth. Rotowire.com 13 minutes ago

    • Bryan Reynolds has three hits, homer in defeat
Bryan Reynolds went 3-for-5 with a homer in a loss Thursday to the Giants.

Advice: Reynolds hit one of three homer for the Pirates on Thursday. The 29-year-old also singled twice to push his average to .260 with a .772 OPS. Reynolds should continue to see those numbers climb as we get deeper into the season based on his track record. Rotoworld 22 minutes ago

    • Pulled due to illness
Yankees manager Aaron Boone said that Trevino was removed from Thursday's game versus the Mariners due to illness, Bryan Hoch Bryan Hoch of MLB.com.

Advice: Trevino was lifted in favor of pinch hitter Austin Wells in the bottom of the eighth inning after going 1-for-3 with a single in his first three plate appearances. Boone expects Trevino to be fine to travel with the team for its road trip beginning this weekend, so consider the catcher day-to-day. Rotowire.com 29 minutes ago

    • Matt Chapman homers, drives in three in victory
Matt Chapman hit a three-run homer Thursday to help the Giants to a win over the Pirates.

Advice: Chapman remains hot, and his three-run blast off Hunter Stratton got San Francisco back in the game; turning a 6-2 deficit into a 6-5 game. The 31-year-old has homered eight times, and three of those blasts have come in his last three games. Chapman has been streaky for the majority of his career, and it appears he’s on the right side of things right now. Rotoworld 33 minutes ago

    • Joey Bart hits grand slam in loss to Giants
Joey Bart hit a grand slam Thursday in a loss to the Giants.

Advice: Bart was ejected late in this game, but before that dismissal, he did some damage against the team that drafted him with the second-overall pick in the 2017 MLB Draft. The backstop took Mason Black deep with the bases loaded to give Pittsburgh a 5-1 lead, but the Giants would end up coming back to win the contest. Bart also doubled, and appears to be having a breakout season with a .267/.362/.517 triple slash. Rotoworld 33 minutes ago

    • Tyler Rogers gets first save of 2024 vs. Pirates
Tyler Rogers hurled a scoreless ninth to pick up a save Thursday against the Pirates.

Advice: That’s the first save for Rogers, and with Camilo Doval locked into the closing role, it’s very likely his last for a while. The 33-year-old has a 2.22 ERA, eight holds and a 0.97 WHIP over his 26 appearances for the Giants in 2024. Rotoworld 33 minutes ago
    • Paul Skenes limits Giants to one run over six
Paul Skenes allowed one run over six innings with three strikeouts, but didn’t factor into the decision against the Giants on Thursday.

Advice: Skenes allowed six hits and one walk. The right-hander didn’t have his best swing-and-miss stuff, and he did deal with some traffic; something he didn’t deal with at all in his six no-hit innings Friday against the Cubs. Even still, the 21-year-old was impressive again, and he now has a 2.25 ERA and a 21/4 K/BB over three starts. Next up for Skenes is a start against the Tigers on Wednesday. • Slated for bulk relief
Alexander is in line to serve as a bulk reliever in Friday's game versus the Royals, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: Alexander carried a perfect game into the eighth inning of his last outing in Toronto as a traditional starter, but he's slated to follow opener Shawn Armstrong on Friday. The left-hander holds a 5.06 ERA in six traditional starts and a 5.40 ERA in bulk relief this season. Rotowire.com 45 minutes ago
    • Will be opener Friday
Armstrong will serve as an opener for Friday's game against the Royals, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: The right-hander will be first into the game before handing things off to Tyler Alexander, who is slated to handle the bulk of the innings. It will be the fourth opener assignment this season for Armstrong, who has allowed four runs (three earned) with an 8:2 K:BB over four innings in the first three outings. Rotowire.com 52 minutes ago
