    • Sent to Triple-A
The Red Sox optioned Winckowski to Triple-A Worcester on Sunday.

Advice: Sean McAdam of The Springfield Republican reported after Saturday's 4-2 win over the Nationals that Winckowski was headed back to Triple-A, but the Red Sox didn't make the right-hander's demotion official until Sunday, when right-hander Brayan Bello (lat) was reinstated from the 15-day injured list in a corresponding move. Over 12 appearances (three starts) for Boston this season, Winckowski holds a 3.33 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 19:11 K:BB across 24.1 innings. Rotowire.com 5 minutes ago

    • Josh Winckowski heading to Triple-A Worcester
Red Sox optioned RHP Josh Winckowski to Triple-A Worcester.

Advice: Winckowski is sent down to make room for Brayan Bello with Bello coming off the injured list to start Sunday’s game. The right-hander has mostly been effective in 2024 with a 3.33 ERA in 24 1/3 innings of work, but he’ll head to Triple-A for now. It’s likely a short stay. Rotoworld 11 minutes ago

    • Pitches well in loss
Miller (3-3) was stuck with the loss against Oakland on Saturday, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out nine.

Advice: All of the damage against Miller came in the top of the third when the 25-year-old issued a leadoff walk to Lawrence Butler to open the frame, followed by back-to-back singles. The right-hander only allowed two hits outside of that inning and retired 10 of the final 12 batters he faced, but still got stuck with his third loss of the season due to a lack of run support. Miller has allowed two runs or fewer in six of his eight starts this season and recorded his second-highest strikeout total of the campaign Saturday with nine punchouts. • Red Sox reinstate Brayan Bello (lat) off of IL
Red Sox reinstated RHP Brayan Bello off the 15-day injured list.

Advice: Bello has been out since the end of April due to right lat tightness. The right-hander will rejoin the rotation, but it’s worth pointing out he threw just 52 pitches in his last rehab start. He’ll get the ball Sunday against the Nationals, but fantasy managers should proceed with some caution for this outing. Rotoworld 14 minutes ago

    • Not considered close to return
Manager Bud Black said Saturday that Freeland (elbow) is "a week or 10 days away from getting on the mound," MLB.com reports.

Advice: Freeland played catch Thursday, Friday and Saturday and seems to have responded well to the workouts, but the Rockies aren't yet ready to have him advance to the next phase of his rehab program for his strained left elbow. While Freeland might join the Rockies for its upcoming road trip that begins Monday, the veteran southpaw will still be limited to playing catch and doesn't yet appear to be close to a return from the 15-day injured list. Given that he'll still need to complete a minor-league rehab assignment after he resumes throwing off a mound and facing hitters, Freeland doesn't look like he'll be an option for Colorado's rotation until around mid-June. • Activated ahead of start
The Red Sox reinstated Bello (lat) from the 15-day injured list ahead of his start Sunday against the Nationals.

Advice: Bello landed on the IL on April 24 due to right lat tightness, which he experienced coming out of his start April 19 versus the Pirates. He was able to get the green light to rejoin the big-league rotation after making one rehab start with Double-A Portland on Tuesday, when he allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits and two walks while striking out five over 2.2 innings. Bello holds a 3-1 record over five starts with a 3.04 ERA and 1.05 WHIP over 26.2 innings this season. Rotowire.com 19 minutes ago

    • Solid in big league debut
Estes (1-0) earned the win over the Mariners on Saturday, allowing one run on two hits over five innings while striking out five.

Advice: Estes was efficient throughout his five innings of work, doing much of the damage with his slider and four-seamer. While he only threw eight of his 17 first pitches for strikes, the right-hander was frequently able to work his way back from being down in the count and gave up only two hits on the night, though one of those was a home run. Estes also took a liner off his right bicep in the first, but still managed to scoop it up and retire Julio Rodriguez for the out at first base before waving off the trainer and continuing on with the inning. It was certainly an impressive debut for the promising rookie, though it remains to be seen whether or not he'll stick around in the rotation for another start. Rotowire.com 25 minutes ago
    • Starting again Sunday
Urena will start Sunday's game against the Rockies at Coors Field.

Advice: He'll make his second straight turn through the rotation after picking up a win in Tuesday's 15-8 victory over the Athletics while holding Oakland to two runs (one earned) on four hits and two walks over five innings. The Rangers should have starting roles available for both Urena and Jack Leiter until the team gets one of Nathan Eovaldi (groin), Max Scherzer (back) or Dane Dunning (shoulder) back from the injured list. • Draws starting nod Sunday
Blach is slated to start Sunday's game against the Rangers at Coors Field.

Advice: Blach will pick up his second start of the season as he joins the rotation as a replacement for Peter Lambert, who was recently moved to the bullpen. The veteran southpaw had worked in relief in both of his past two appearances for Colorado, but because he handled four- and three-inning workloads in those outings, he should be reasonably stretched out as he re-enters the rotation.
