    • Report: Astros add Omar Narváez on Triple-A deal
      The Astros have signed Omar Narváez to a minor league deal, according to KPRC2’s Ari Alexander.

      Narvaez agreed to a minor-league contract with the Astros on Wednesday, Ari Alexander of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

      Advice: Narvaez was released by the Mets earlier this month after slashing .192/.254/.259 over 215 plate appearances since the start of the 2023 campaign. The left-handed-hitting catcher will offer experienced depth at Triple-A Sugar Land for now, but could be a candidate to join the big-league roster soon with Victor Caratini (hip) expected to be out until after the All-Star break.       Advice: Jeffers' seventh-inning blast briefly tied the game at 4-4 before the Diamondbacks took the lead back a half-inning later. The catcher opened June in an 0-for-17 skid, but he's hit safely in seven of his last eight games, going 8-for-31 (.258) in that span.       Advice: Perez had gone 0-for-14 over his previous four games, and he'd gone seven contests without an extra-base hit. Both droughts ended when the catcher went back-to-back with Vinnie Pasquantino in the fourth inning, with Perez's homer serving as the decisive run. A poor June -- 11-for-57 (.157) over 20 games -- has taken some of the shine off of what was a strong start to the year for Perez.       Advice: Perez’ home run was his 11th of the season and second in the month of June. Perez has cooled off this month. He’s 11-for-70 (.157) in June with two home runs and five RBI.
