    • Remains limited to tee work
Edman (wrist) remains limited to tee work, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Advice: He has been cleared to up the intensity of his workouts, but Edman's progress remains, at best, slow, with no return date in sight. The switch-hitter was transferred to the 60-day injured list earlier this week, so he's officially not eligible for activation until late May. Rotowire.com Today, 1:53 pm

    • Doubles twice, scores in loss
Carpenter went 2-for-4 with two doubles and a run scored in Wednesday's 5-4, 10-inning loss to the Guardians.

Advice: Carpenter continued his solid play this season, as he's now batting .269 with an .801 OPS. He's collected eight doubles so far but only three home runs across 36 games. After breaking out for 20 long balls last year, Carpenter could dial up the power soon, which would only further enhance his fantasy value. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:28 pm
    • Brewers activate Christian Yelich from 10-day IL
Brewers activated Christian Yelich (back) from the 10-day injured list.

Advice: Yelich is back in the lineup for the Brewers on Wednesday after he was sidelined for the last three weeks. The 32-year-old outfielder is off to a good start this season slashing .333/.422/.744 with five home runs and 11 RBI in his first 11 games. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:44 am

    • Activated, starting Wednesday
The Brewers reinstated Yelich (back) from the 10-day injured list Wednesday. He'll serve as the Brewers' designated hitter and will bat third in the team's series finale in Kansas City.

Advice: Milwaukee optioned infielder Tyler Black to Triple-A Nashville to clear room on the 26-man active roster for Yelich, who had been on the shelf since April 16 with a lower-back strain. Despite missing well beyond the minimum 10 days, Yelich will return to the lineup without having gone on a minor-league rehab assignment, as the Brewers were encouraged enough with how his back responded to baseball activities over the past few days to activate him. He'll be eased back into action in a non-defensive role, and Yelich could end up seeing more work at DH over the next week or two before gradually settling into his usual spot in left field. • Not facing lefty
Carpenter is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against Cleveland.

Advice: As is customary, Carpenter will slide to the bench with southpaw Logan Allen on the mound for the Guardians. In his stead, Ryan Vilade will make his 2024 debut and handle right field. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 1:21 pm
    • Swipes bag Monday
Tatis went 1-for-5 with a run and a stolen base in Monday's 6-3 win against the Cubs.

Advice: Tatis helped generate San Diego's first run, reaching on a leadoff single in the sixth inning, advancing to second on another single, then taking part in a double steal with Jake Cronenworth before both players scored on a Jurickson Profar hit. Tatis has been somewhat quiet at the plate this season, but he's still been moderately productive with a .248/.327/.442 slash line, seven homers, 20 RBI, 28 runs and five stolen bases through 168 plate appearances. He's gone 7-for-23 with a homer, a steal, six runs and three RBI through the first five games of May. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 9:47 am
    • Christian Yelich (backs) takes BP on field
Christian Yelich (back) was able to take part in batting practice on the field before Monday’s game against the Royals.

Advice: Brewers manager Pat Murphy told reporters that this was likely the final step before Yelich can return to the lineup. That could mean Yelich won’t take part in a rehab assignment, and assuming he recovers well from this session, the 32-year-old could be back in the lineup by the end of the week. • Hits on field Monday
Yelich (back) did some hitting on the field Monday, Sophia Minnaert of Bally Sports Wisconsin reports.

Advice: It's the first time Yelich has hit on the field since he went on the injured list three weeks ago with a lower-back strain. Brewers manager Pat Murphy had indicated previously that it would likely be the final step before Yelich returns to action, although it's not clear whether he might need to go out on a rehab assignment first. The 32-year-old was off to a .333/.422/.744 start with five home runs in 11 contests before getting hurt. Rotowire.com Monday, 3:12 pm

    • Tommy Edman (wrist) moved to 60-day IL
Cardinals transferred Tommy Edman from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day injured list.

Advice: Edman now won’t be eligible to return for the Cardinals until the end of May as he recovers from his wrist injury. Chris Raycroft was selected from Triple-A Memphis with the added roster room. Rotoworld Monday, 1:14 pm
