    • Belts two-run shot
Gimenez went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer, two runs scored and a walk in Sunday's win over Minnesota.

Advice: Gimenez went deep for a two-run blast in the first inning. He's hit three home runs over his last 18 games after beginning the year in a 26-game drought. Gimenez has gone 12-for-24 over his last six games, boosting his slash line to .277/.337/.387 with 12 extra-base hits and seven steals. He's hitting .300 with a .795 OPS and a 6:8 BB:K over his last 20 appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 7:19 am
    • Yankees option Oswald Peraza to Triple-A
Yankees activated INF Oswald Peraza from the 10-day injured list; optioned him to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Advice: Peraza was placed on the IL with a shoulder strain during spring training, which gave Oswaldo Cabrera the chance to compete for a starting job. The Yankees also traded for Jon Berti, so the infield has gotten a bit crowded. Peraza will try to get his timing back at Triple-A, but there doesn’t appear to be any path for him to make it back to the big leagues unless there’s an injury to any of the players ahead of him. • Pops first homer of May
Altuve went 1-for-5 with a solo home run and two runs scored Sunday against the Brewers.

Advice: Altuve led off the bottom of the first inning with a home run, his eighth of the season and first since April 28. He's hit a moderate slump in May, as he's hitting .243 with six RBI and nine runs scored across 17 games, though he has chipped in three stolen bases. Altuve has maintained a .854 OPS across the first 207 plate appearances of the campaign so there's little reason for concern for his slightly slower stretch of production. • First hit since return
Mendick went 1-for-3 with a double Sunday against the Yankees.

Advice: Mendick was activated from the injured list Friday and has since started all three games at third base while hitting in the bottom third of the order. He collected his first hit since returning with a double in the seventh frame. With Bryan Ramos (quadriceps) sidelined, Mendick should have a clear path to playing time in the short term. • Has ankle injury
Steer is dealing with a sore ankle, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Steer was held out of the starting lineup Sunday as a result of the ankle but served as a pinch hitter. He walked for Will Benson with the bases loaded in the seventh inning and was removed for a pinch runner. Cincinnati manager David Bell said Steer should be back to 100 percent for Tuesday's series opener at home against the Padres. Rotowire.com Today, 5:11 am

    • Extends, ends streak
Marte went 2-for-4 with a walk and two runs scored in Sunday's 6-4 win over Detroit.

Advice: Marte extended a hit streak to 18 games with a second-inning single. His single two innings later ended another streak: the switch-hitter entered Sunday's contest with exactly one hit in 15 consecutive games. It seems counter-intuitive, but Marte's batting average has actually dropped during the streak, from .307 to .292. It should be noted he's done more than just hit singles during the run; Marte has four doubles, two triples, four home runs, 11 RBI and 10 runs scored over those 18 games. Rotowire.com Today, 4:38 am
    • Starts at third base
Alexander started at third base and went 1-for-4 with an RBI in Sunday's 6-4 win over the Tigers.

Advice: Alexander had one of the two productive run-producing outs in the bottom of the seventh inning when the Diamondbacks reclaimed a lead they lost in the top half of the frame. He started for the fourth time in the last eight games, and it was his first start at third base. After a spell as the regular fill-in for Geraldo Perdomo (knee) at shortstop, Alexander has taken a back seat to Kevin Newman. With recent news coming out that Perdomo is expected back in two weeks, Alexander could be moving down to the minors in early June. Rotowire.com Today, 4:23 am
    • Shows power and speed in win
Kim went 2-for-4 with a solo homer, a walk, a steal and two runs scored in Sunday's 9-1 win over Atlanta.

Advice: Kim's first hit of the night was a base hit in the fourth, during which he stole second and came around to score on a double from Fernando Tatis. He then destroyed a 393-foot blast to center field in the seventh to extend the lead to 9-0. Kim now has just two stolen bases since April 23 and has yet to reach double digits this year after being seventh in baseball in 2023 with 38 thefts. HIs struggles to make contact remain, as he's slashing just .212/.325/.370 with six homers, 22 RBI, 24 runs and a 27:34 BB:K in 195 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 3:04 am

    • Swats early home run
Cronenworth went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer and a walk in Sunday's 9-1 win over Atlanta.

Advice: Cronenworth opened up the scoring with a two-run blast off Bryce Elder in the opening frame for his only hit of the night. Currently among all qualified first basemen, Cronenworth owns a 140 wRC+, which is third in baseball only behind Freddie Freeman and Bryce Harper. He's putting together an excellent campaign and is currently slashing .275/.344/.485 with eight homers, 30 RBI, 21 runs and a 17:33 BB:K in 192 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 2:47 am
