      Miller (3-5) allowed five runs on five hits and struck out four without walking a batter over six innings, taking the loss versus the Yankees on Wednesday.

      Advice: Miller's last two starts, on the road versus the Orioles and Yankees, have shown that he still has some work to do against elite offenses. He was done in by the long ball Wednesday -- Aaron Judge tagged him for a two-run home run in the first inning and Juan Soto went deep twice in the contest. Miller has allowed multiple homers in four of his 10 starts this season, giving up a total of 10 long balls. The right-hander has a 3.53 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 56:16 K:BB over 58.2 innings. His next start is projected to be at home versus the Astros. Miller gave up four runs on six hits, including two homers, and one walk over six innings in a May 5 start at Houston.       Bryce Miller allowed five earned runs on five hits, including three homers, across six innings in a loss to the Yankees on Wednesday. He struck out four and walked none.

      Advice: Aaron Judge and Juan Soto jumped all over Miller in this one accounting for all of his earned runs with three combined homers. Miller was visibly frustrated as the pitches they hit out weren’t even bad: Soto took two sinkers on the edge to left field and Judge golfed a low and away slider into the short porch.       Ragans (4-3) picked up the win in Wednesday's 8-3 victory over the Tigers, allowing one hit and three walks over six scoreless innings. He struck out 12.

      Advice: A clash with fellow star southpaw Tarik Skubal brought out the best in Ragans, who fanned a career-high 12 batters and generated a whopping 35 called or swinging strikes among his 100 pitches. The 26-year-old has reeled off 13 straight shutout innings over his last two starts, and he'll take a 3.34 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 76:21 K:BB through 62 innings into his next outing, which is scheduled to come on the road early next week in Minnesota.       Cole Ragans recorded 12 strikeouts over six scoreless innings on Wednesday in a win over the Tigers.

      Advice: Ragans held up his end of the bargain in a highly-anticipated matchup against Tigers ace Tarik Skubal, limiting Detroit’s offense to just one hit and three walks over six shutout frames. The 26-year-old emerging ace generated 15 swinging strikes and a near-elite 35 percent CSW, finishing with a season-high 12 punchouts.       Javier did not factor into the decision in Tuesday's win over the Angels, allowing four runs on eight hits and three walks while striking out one over four innings.

      Advice: Javier's night got started off on the wrong foot after surrendering a two-run blast to Luis Rengifo in the opening frame. The Angels then got to him for two more runs in the fourth on a trio of hits, which included an RBI-double from Zach Neto. It was a very discouraging performance after Javier put together his best start of the season his previous outing against the A's. After the game, he cited his struggles due to poor mechanics, though he's now given up 11 runs on 13 hits and seven walks while striking out just one batter in 5.1 innings in his two starts surrounding his gem against Oakland.       Estevez (0-3) took the loss against the Astros on Tuesday after allowing an unearned run on a hit and a walk while managing to record one out.

      Advice: Estevez had no room for error after the Angels failed to score in the top of the 10th and was stuck with facing the heart of the Astros lineup. Yordan Alvarez was intentionally walked to start the inning, and then Alex Bregman was retired before giving up the game-winning hit to Jeremy Pena. Estevez has now pitched on back-to-back days and in three of the last four and likely will have the day off Wednesday. He now owns a 5.06 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 17:3 K:BB in 16 innings.       Cristian Javier was removed after giving up four runs and eight hits in four innings Tuesday against the Angels.

      Advice: Javier’s stuff was well off tonight; he averaged just 90.4 mph with his fastball, which was down 1.5 mph from his previous average this season. He wound up with just one strikeout and three walks. All things considered, he was lucky to give up just the four runs. Javier said afterwards that the decline in velocity was due to poor mechanics and not anything injury-related, so that’s probably good. He’ll face the Mariners next.       Carlos Estévez dropped to 0-3 after allowing the automatic runner to score in the 10th against the Astros on Tuesday.

      Advice: Estévez had no cushion after the Angels failed to score in the top of the inning, and he was stuck facing the heart of the Astros order with Kyle Tucker on second. The decision was made to walk Yordan Alvarez to start the inning. Estevez then retired Alex Bregman before giving up a game-winning hit to Jeremy Peña. We’re not at all impressed by the job that Estévez is going, but this one doesn’t reflect badly on him.       Gerrit Cole (elbow) faced hitters on Tuesday in a 22-pitch live batting practice session.

      Advice: Cole told reporters afterwards that he came out of facing hitters for the first time since landing on the injured list back in spring training without any issues. The 33-year-old fantasy ace added that he wouldn’t rule out a potential return at some point next month.
