      Luis Rengifo finished 3-for-4 with a homer and three RBI versus the Phillies in Tuesday’s loss.

      Advice: New Angels manager Ron Washington made it very clear early on that he wasn’t a Rengifo fan, but at this point, it’s hard to justify not batting him first. He was in the fifth spot tonight. but he has about 60 points of OBP on leadoff man Nolan Schanuel, and he’s definitely the more effective baserunner of those two.       Josh Smith went 2-for-3 with a home run and two runs scored in Tuesday’s win over the Nationals.



      Advice: Smith hit his second homer of the season, a solo blast, off of Jordan Weems in the bottom up the sixth to give the Rangers a 3-1 lead. It was the second of two hits for Smith on the night, as the young third baseman has filled in admirably for Josh Jung and is now slashing .317/.417/.500 through the first month of the season. With Jung out for at least 4-6 more weeks, Smith should continue to have some low-end fantasy upside batting in a Rangers offense that ranked 14th in runs scored heading into the day.       Advice: Rengifo's two-run blast was a key part of a four-run fifth inning for the Halos, but Minnesota pulled away late to drop the Angels' record to 10-18. Rengifo has been a locked-in part of the team's lineup of late, starting five straight games at either second or third base.       Luis Rengifo swatted his first home run of the season on Sunday afternoon as the Angels fell to the Twins.

      Advice: The versatile 27-year-old tagged Twins’ right-hander Pablo Lopez for his 372-foot (95.7 mph EV) two-run shot in the fifth inning. He was also hit by a pitch in the seventh inning and scored on an RBI single off the bat of Mike Trout.       Smith started at shortstop and went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's 4-3 loss to Seattle.

      Advice: Smith launched his first homer of the season in the fourth inning, which tied the game momentarily before the Mariners plated two a half-inning later. He got the start at shortstop while primary starter Corey Seager served as DH a day after he left a game with a bruised shin. If Seager is limited to DH for a bit, Smith will be the primary fill-in at short. If Seager is ready for a defensive role, then Smith will go back to sharing third base with Ezequiel Duran.
