      Advice: Blanco fared fine after giving up six runs (three earned) in his previous outing, though fantasy managers in leagues that count quality starts will no doubt be disappointed that he was pulled having tossed 5.2 frames. That hook may have also cost the right-hander a victory, as he had a one-run lead when he was relieved by Tayler Scott, who promptly gave up a single to allow the tying run to cross the plate.       Advice: Merrill stole his first base since June 9. Over the 20 games between thefts, the rookie outfielder impressed, hitting .347 with nine home runs, 19 RBI and 14 runs scored. For the season, he's at a .293/.326/.458 slash line with 12 homers, 10 steals, 43 RBI and 39 runs scored over 86 contests while taking on a near-everyday role in center field.       Cal Raleigh went 1-for-4 with a solo homer against the Orioles on Wednesday.

      Advice: Raleigh’s solo homer in the sixth inning off Keegan Akin provided the only offense the Mariners could muster on Wednesday against Baltimore.       Bobby Witt Jr. went 2-for-3 with a double, RBI, two runs scored, and a walk on Wednesday against the Rays.

      Advice: Witt paced the Royals in this one and was the engine for their offense. His third inning double got them on the board and a key walk in the seventh set Salvador Perez up for his huge two-run single to put this game out of reach. Witt remains one of the most productive and dependable players in baseball with a .314/.366/.543 slash line to go along with 13 home runs and 22 stolen bases.       Ronel Blanco lasted 5 2/3 innings on Wednesday against the Blue Jays. He allowed two runs while striking out four and walking two in a no-decision.

      Advice: Blanco was just fine in this one. He had some trouble finding the zone with his breaking balls and the Blue Jays worked some long and tough at-bats against him. He fell one out short of a quality start and the Astros pulled ahead in the seventh inning giving him no chance for the win despite a decent outing.       Anthony Volpe smacked a two-run double on Wednesday in the Yankees’ loss to the Reds.

      Advice: Volpe got New York on the scoreboard in the seventh inning with a two-run double off Cincinnati starter Andrew Abbott. It wasn’t all positive for the young shortstop as he grounded into a key double play in the ninth inning to squash any hope of a Yankees rally against Reds stopper Alexis Díaz.       Erick Fedde struck out three and allowed one run over six innings on Wednesday in a win over the Guardians.

      Advice: Fedde wasn’t overpowering in this one, but he got plenty of run support from Chicago’s lineup and managed to limit Cleveland’s offense to just three hits and a trio of walks over six frames. A third-inning sacrifice fly from David Fry, on the heels of a leadoff double by Guardians rookie Daniel Schneemann, represented the lone tally against him in this one. The 31-year-old journeyman righty has settled in as a solid back-end rotation stabilizer for fantasy managers in his White Sox debut. He’ll carry a strong 3.13 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 94/28 K/BB ratio across 106 1/3 innings (18 starts) into a home outing against the Twins on Tuesday to close out the first half.       Garcia (elbow) will throw a bullpen session Wednesday and will need at least one minor-league rehab appearance before being activated, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.

      Advice: If all goes well, Garcia would be sent out for a rehab assignment following Wednesday's bullpen session. While it's unclear exactly how many appearances he'll need in the minors, manager John Schneider indicated Garcia would need more than one outing before rejoining the active roster.     • On verge of rehab assignment
      Bogaerts (shoulder) could begin a rehab assignment within the next day or two, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union Tribune reports.

      Advice: Bogaerts had a CT scan of his left shoulder Monday, the results of which indicated that he is ready to resume playing. Acee indicates that the infielder will likely head out on a rehab assignment with Triple-A El Paso in the coming days, and team officials have previously suggested that a rehab stint would last 7 to 10 days. Though manager Mike Shildt recently said that there is no timeline for Bogaerts' activation from the injured list, if all goes well moving forward, he could rejoin the Padres for their home series against Atlanta that begins July 12.
