    • On cusp of return
Leone (back) appears set to be activated from the 15-day injured list Monday, James Fegan of SoxMachine.com reports.

Advice: Leone has been on the shelf since May 6 with lower-back tightness, but he looks primed to be back in Chicago's bullpen after the minimum 15-day stay on the injured list. Right-hander Brad Keller was designated for assignment Sunday, opening a spot on the major-league roster for the reliever, once activated. Rotowire.com 38 minutes ago

    • Designated for assignment
Keller was designated for assignment by the White Sox on Sunday, James Fegan of SoxMachine.com reports.

Advice: Keller was tagged with a loss Saturday versus the Yankees, giving up six runs (five earned) on seven hits, including four homers, and he'll now be placed on waivers. The right-hander still owns a 4.86 ERA over 16.2 innings in five appearances, including two starts, with Chicago in 2024, so it's certainly plausible that another organization could claim him. The transaction opens a spot on the Chicago's 40-man roster, while Keller's spot on the major-league roster will likely be filled by Dominic Leone (back), who's slated to be activated from the 15-day injured list in the near future. It's unclear who will replace Keller in the starting rotation, though Michael Soroka projects as a logical replacement for the time being. Rotowire.com 45 minutes ago

    • White Sox expected to DFA Brad Keller on Monday
James Fegan of SoxMachine reports that the White Sox plan to designate right-hander Brad Keller for assignment.

Advice: Keller was obliterated in his start against the Yankees on Saturday, giving up six runs (five earned) over four innings — including four home runs. It’s not immediately clear who the White Sox will turn to in order to replace Keller in their rotation. Rotoworld 46 minutes ago

    • Cubs expected to promote Luis Vazquez on Monday
Jorge Castillo of ESPN reports that the Cubs are planning to promote Luis Vazquez from Triple-A Iowa on Monday.

Advice: No word yet on what the corresponding move could be, or where exactly Vazquez will see his action on the Cubs’ infield, but we’ll know more on Monday. The 24-year-old has hit .270/.369/.409 with three homers, 11 RBI and one stolen base (in three attempts) over 38 games at Triple-A Iowa this season. Rotoworld Today, 5:00 pm

    • Slade Cecconi to work after opener on Monday
Slade Cecconi will work behind an opener when he takes on the Dodgers on Monday evening in Los Angeles.

Advice: Diamondbacks’ skipper Torey Lovullo told reporters after Sunday’s win over the Tigers that Joe Mantiply will serve as the opener on Monday — giving him a chance to face both Shohei Ohtani and Freddie Freeman in the opening inning. Not that Cecconi is a recommended streaming option against the Dodgers, but his chances of earning a victory do improve slightly working as the bulk guy out of the bullpen rather than starting. • Joc Pederson has three hits to lead Diamondbacks
Joc Pederson went 3-for-3 with a double and a pair of RBI on Sunday afternoon, leading the Diamondbacks to a 6-4 victory over the visiting Tigers to salvage the final game of their three-game weekend set.

Advice: Pederson got the scoring started with an RBI double off of Matt Manning in the home half of the first inning. He also smacked a run-scoring single in the second inning — extending the Diamondbacks’ lead to 3-0. With his three-hit attack, the 32-year-old slugger is now hitting a robust .317/.421/.558 with five homers, 12 RBI and one stolen base on the season. Rotoworld Today, 4:21 pm

    • Ohtani has game-winning single on Sunday
Shohei Ohtani went 2-for-4 with the game-winning RBI in a 3-2 win over the Reds in 10 innings on Sunday.

Advice: With the game tied in the 10th, Ohtani laced a 100.3 mph single off of Alexis Diaz to score Jason Heyward and give the Dodgers the win. It was Ohtani’s 33rd RBI of the season to go along with a stellar .353/.423/.658 triple slash. He was likely underdrafted in fantasy leagues because he was listed at just UTIL in most formats. • Paul Sewald closes out Tigers on Sunday afternoon
Paul Sewald slammed the door on the Tigers on Sunday afternoon, working a scoreless ninth inning to preserve a two-run advantage.

Advice: The 33-year-old hurler picked up his third save of the season for his efforts. He made it look awfully easy in this one, needing just 10 pitches (nine strikes) to get Wenceel Perez on a fly ball, Spencer Torkelson on strikes and Javier Baez on a pop out to second base to end it. On the season, Sewald now holds a 1.80 ERA, 0.60 WHIP and a 5/1 K/BB ratio across his first five innings of work. Rotoworld Today, 4:18 pm
