      CJ Abrams checked out fine after being hit in the left hand/wrist area by a pitch during Friday’s loss to the Rays.

      Advice: Williams was placed on the 15-day IL on June 4 with a right flexor strain but remains shut down from throwing.       Michael Harris II (hamstring) has been throwing and taking swings but has yet to be cleared to resume running.

      Advice: The dynamic 23-year-old outfielder is making progress in his recovery from a Grade 2 left hamstring strain, but it’s hard to put a clear timetable on a potential return to the Braves’ lineup until he starts running again.       Harris (hamstring) has not yet been cleared to begin a running program, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

      Advice: Harris is two weeks removed from suffering a Grade 2 left hamstring strain, and while he's feeling better, it's not yet to the point where he's able to do any running. With just over two weeks until the All-Star break, it's possible Atlanta will hold Harris out until the start of the second half. Jarred Kelenic has been handling center field with Harris out.     • Homers in blowout loss
      Arenado went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Thursday's 11-4 loss to the Reds.

      Advice: Arenado cut the deficit to 5-2 with his third-inning blast, but the Cardinals weren't able to build off it. While he's battled a couple of arm injures recently, the third baseman has still put together a decent June. He's batting .260 with a .698 OPS this month, though just five of his 20 hits have gone for extra bases over the last 21 contests.     • Season-high six walks in win
      Abbott (7-6) picked up the win over the Cardinals on Thursday, allowing two runs on two hits and six walks over five innings while striking out two.

      Advice: The only runs charged to Abbott on the night came on a two-run homer from Nolan Arenado in the bottom of the third, as the lefty managed to pitch his way out of trouble the rest of the time despite issuing a season-high six free passes. Abbott has now won four of his last five starts, though he finishes the month of June with 15 walks, compared to just six in May.       Hicks did not factor into the decision Thursday, allowing three runs on five hits, two walks and a hit batsman against the Cubs. He struck out seven.

      Advice: Hicks' outing was marred by a rough third inning in which he hit a batter, allowed two steals and gave up a homer and triple among three hits during the three-run frame. Otherwise, Hicks faced just two batters over the minimum during the other four innings, recording at least seven strikeouts for the fourth time this season.       Scott earned a save against the Phillies on Thursday, striking out one batter in a perfect ninth inning.

      Advice: Scott made quick work of Philadelphia in the ninth frame, retiring the side in order on nine pitches. The lefty closer has not given up a run in any of his past seven outings, tallying a win and three saves despite a mediocre 5:3 K:BB over seven innings during that span.     • Arenado belts seventh home run in loss Thursday
      Nolan Arenado went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run against the Reds on Thursday.



      Advice: Arenado’s home run was his seventh of the season. He’s struggled mightily this year with a .258 average and .691 OPS. Arenado finished third in the National League MVP voting just two years ago, but has hit .262 with 33 home runs and 127 RBI in 218 games since then.
