    • Report: Royals reached out to ask for Arraez
      The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal reports that the Royals contacted the Marlins last week to discuss trading for Luis Arraez before the infielder was dealt to the Padres

      Advice: Rosenthal was quick to note that those talks “never advanced beyond the preliminary stage"; however, it’s interesting that the Royals even made the phone call because it tells us that the team is looking to capitalize on their fast start to the season which sees them just 2.5 games behind the Guardians in the AL Central. However, another interesting aspect of this is where the Royals may be looking to upgrade. Michael Massey has been pretty good at second base since coming off the IL and Vinnie Pasquantino is locked in at first base, so the Royals must have felt that Arraez could fill the DH spot, which means either Nelson Velazquez or Hunter Renfroe could be on notice in the midst of a slow start to the season.       Ozuna went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 5-1 loss to the Dodgers.

      Advice: Ozuna was the only Atlanta player with multiple hits as well as the only one with an extra-base hit in Sunday's loss. He took James Paxton deep to right center in the seventh for his first long ball since April 21. He's now back tied atop the leaderboard with 10 home runs on the year and leads all of baseball with 33 RBI.       Heim went 1-for-3 with a walk and solo home run in Sunday's 3-2 extra-inning win over the Royals.

      Advice: Heim knotted the game at two runs apiece with a ninth-inning home run that set the stage for Nathaniel Lowe's game-winning single in the 10th. For Heim, it was his fourth homer and first in 12 games. He's appeared in 29 of the team's first 35 games, which is a lot for a catcher whose bat has tailed off in August and September in each of the past two seasons.       Guerrero went 2-for-4 with a walk and a grand slam during Sunday's 11-8 loss to the Nationals.

      Advice: Guerrero's grand slam in the second inning off MacKenzie Gore was his fourth of the season and first in 22 games. It was also the first time he homered this season with men on base as he had collected just 11 RBI and hit just .231 coming into the contest. Despite the power outage, Guerrero is currently in the midst of an eight-game hitting streak, batting 11-for-32 (.344) with three doubles, a homer, five RBI and three runs scored during that stretch.       Devers went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and two runs scored in Sunday's 9-2 win over the Twins.

      Advice: After opening the game 0-for-3, Devers singled and later came around to score in the top of the eighth inning before launching a two-run home run off Jay Jackson in the following frame. The long ball was his fourth of the season and his first in 10 games. Since returning from a bone bruise in his left knee April 24, Devers has batted .415 with two homers, seven RBI and eight runs scored over 41 at-bats in 11 contests.       Marcell Ozuna went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in a loss to the Dodgers on Sunday.

      Advice: Ozuna’s home run was a 373-foot shot at 104.3 mph off the bat. It was the Braves’ only extra-base hit of the night. Ozuna now has 10 home runs and 33 RBI on the season while slashing .306/.382/.603 and has been the team’s best hitter this season. Rotoworld Sunday, 5:24 pm
       
    • Jonah Heim hits ninth-inning homer in Rangers’ win
      Jonah Heim hit a game-tying homer in the ninth Sunday as the Rangers beat the Royals 3-2 in 10 innings.

      Advice: Heim got off to a slow start over the first 10 days, but he’s settled in nicely since, batting .296 with four homers and 16 RBI in his last 21 games. The Rangers have occasionally batted him as low as eighth and ninth, but he was in the fifth spot today against a lefty and he could hit a little higher versus righties with Wyatt Langford out.     • Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hits grand slam versus Nats
      Vladimir Guerrero Jr. went 2-for-4 and hit his fifth career grand slam Sunday against the Nationals.

      Advice: Guerrero also walked. The homer off MacKenzie Gore was his first since April 10. He’s now hit in eight straight games, raising his OPS from .643 to .711. Rotoworld Sunday, 3:59 pm

      Arraez went 4-for-6 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's win over the Diamondbacks.

      Advice: Arraez wasted no time in establishing a good first impression with his new team, smacking a leadoff double on the second pitch he saw from Brandon Pfaadt in the opening frame before coming around to score San Diego's first run of the contest. The newly acquired infielder would add another three singles on the night, with the latter one leading to an eight-run seventh inning for the Padres.
