    • Craig Kimbrel back in closer’s role for Orioles
Orioles manager Brandon Hyde mostly confirmed Monday that Craig Kimbrel is again Baltimore’s closer.

Advice: It’s no surprise after Kimbrel picked up a clean save Sunday, but confirmation is always nice. MASN’s Steve Melewski quoted Hyde as saying: “Well yeah, I think so. Probably. I’m going to see how he feels today. … He looked great yesterday that was awesome. Really happy.” Yennier Cano can be dropped in shallow mixed leagues for now. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:24 pm
    • Robert Suarez now 13-for-13 saving games
Robert Suarez pitched a perfect ninth with a one-run lead for a save against the Braves in the first game of Monday’s doubleheader.

Advice: It’s Suarez’s 16th straight scoreless appearances. He had been stuck on 12 saves for the last 12 days, but even so, he’s tied for first in the majors in that category. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:38 pm
    • Expected to miss 2-to-4 weeks
Rays manager Kevin Cash said Monday that he expects Eflin (back) to be sidelined for 2-to-4 weeks, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: Eflin landed on the 15-day injured list Monday with a lower-back injury that he felt crop up toward the end of his last start. The right-hander said it feels similar to an injury that cost him two weeks last season. While the hope is that the absence will be similar in length this time around, his manager has allowed for the possibility for it to be a bit longer. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:13 pm

    • Out against left-hander
Kepler is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Nationals.

Advice: Kepler is one of several Twins players involved in a platoon, so he will yield to Manuel Margot in right field with the Nats starting left-hander Mitchell Parker. The left-handed hitting Kepler actually has a 1.050 OPS versus southpaws this season, although that's come over just 20 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:53 am
    • Rays place Zach Eflin on IL with back injury
Rays placed RHP Zach Eflin (lower back inflammation) on the 15-day injured list.

Advice: Eflin had a shaky start on Saturday, allowing four runs over six innings against the Blue Jays. Perhaps his back was an issue then. The Rays made his IL designation retroactive to Sunday, but he will still miss at least two starts as he recovers. The 30-year-old has a 4.12 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, and a 44/4 K/BB ratio across 59 innings but it’s unclear who will take his spot in the rotation, but perhaps the Rays will opt to bring Ryan Pepiot back from his leg injury without a rehab assignment. • Placed on IL with back injury
The Rays placed Eflin on the 15-day injured list Monday, retroactive to May 19, with lower-back inflammation, Tricia Whitaker of Bally Sports Sun reports.

Advice: Eflin last pitched Saturday in Toronto, allowing four runs over six innings. It's not clear whether he developed the injury during that outing or another time, but either way he will be sidelined for at least the next two weeks. Ryan Pepiot (leg) is expected back from the IL this week and can slide into Eflin's rotation spot. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:35 am

    • Productive across weekend series
Singleton went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a walk Sunday against the Brewers.

Advice: Singleton enjoyed a productive weekend series against the Brewers, collecting five hits across 12 at-bats while scoring a run and driving in two. He's started 18 of the last 19 games since the demotion of Jose Abreu and has hit .230 with a .342 OBP to go along with four homers, 12 RBI and 13 runs scored. Abreu could rejoin the team within the week, but Singleton has made the case to maintain playing time with his production across May. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:29 am
    • Pops first homer of May
Altuve went 1-for-5 with a solo home run and two runs scored Sunday against the Brewers.

Advice: Altuve led off the bottom of the first inning with a home run, his eighth of the season and first since April 28. He's hit a moderate slump in May, as he's hitting .243 with six RBI and nine runs scored across 17 games, though he has chipped in three stolen bases. Altuve has maintained a .854 OPS across the first 207 plate appearances of the campaign, so there's little reason for concern about his slightly slower stretch of production. • Fans eight in quality start
Bibee allowed a run on four hits and a walk over seven innings in a no-decision Sunday. He struck out eight during the win over the Twins.

Advice: Outside of a Jose Miranda solo shot in the third inning, Bibee was nearly untouchable Sunday. Bibee matched his season best with seven innings of work, and it was just his second quality start of the year. He's registered a strong 3.23 ERA over his last seven starts, dropping his season ERA to 3.93 through 52.2 frames. Bibee's next outing is currently projected to be a road matchup with the Angels.
