• Exits after HBP
Diaz was removed from Friday's game against the White Sox after getting hit by a pitch, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: Diaz took a 99-mph fastball off his hand during the eighth inning of Friday's contest and was immediately replaced on the bases. He will presumably undergo imaging, and the Rays should offer an update on his status sometime after the game. Rotowire.com 18 minutes ago

  • Yandy Díaz leaves game after hit by pitch (hand)
Yandy Díaz was removed from Friday’s game against the Rays after being drilled in the left hand by a pitch from White Sox’ closer Michael Kopech.

Advice: Díaz was the unfortunate victim of a 99.3 mph fastball from Kopech that caught him square on the hand. He’ll head for X-rays to determine if there are any fractures. All fantasy managers can do for now is wait and hope for the best. Expect Rays’ skipper Kevin Cash to provide an update after the game concludes. Rotoworld 21 minutes ago

  • Joey Meneses drives in two runs to lead Nationals
Joey Meneses delivered a go-ahead two-run single in the eighth inning on Friday night, propelling the Nationals to a 3-1 victory over the Marlins in Miami.

Advice: Meneses had a chance to drive in some runs in the sixth inning — as he hit with the bases loaded an no outs — but he grounded into a double play. He didn’t fail in his next opportunity though, smacking a two-run single off of Calvin Faucher in the eighth inning to give the Nationals the lead. He’s still looking for his first home run on the season, hitting an empty .256/.333/.282 with 12 RBI. Rotoworld 28 minutes ago

  • Gavin Stone strong for seven in downing Jays
Gavin Stone limited the Blue Jays to one run and two hits over seven innings in the Dodgers’ 12-2 rout Friday.

Advice: Stone got just two strikeouts and four missed swings tonight, but he did a nice job of keeping the ball on the ground while picking up his second win and quality start in five tries this year. He’ll take a 4.68 ERA into a tough matchup against the Braves next week. Rotoworld 29 minutes ago

  • Chris Bassitt tagged for seven runs by Dodgers
Chris Bassitt was lit up for seven runs in 2 2/3 innings by the Dodgers on Friday.

Advice: Bassitt had no luck at all tonight. He gave up hits on nine of 12 balls in play, even though just five were hard-hit. The two homers he allowed were hit 360 and 366 feet, with the former being a homer in just 11 of 30 ballparks. Bassitt’s ERA jumped from 3.90 to 5.66. If it makes anyone feel better, he finished April at 5.18 last year and then came in at 3.29 the rest of the way. Rotoworld 29 minutes ago

  • Will Smith homers, collects fourth four-hit game
Will Smith went 4-for-5 with a homer, a double and three RBI against the Blue Jays on Friday.

Advice: The 360-foot homer was actually just his third farthest hit ball of the night, as he also had a 374-foot sac fly and a 367-foot double. Smith has been spraying hits since day one, but the homer was just his second of the year. It’s his fourth four-hit game. Only three other players entered the day with even two of them (Mookie Betts with three and Yordan Alvarez and Ketel Marte with two apiece). Smith is batting .376/.413/.527 with 21 RBI in 24 games. • Vladimir Guerrero Jr. goes 0-for-4 in defeat
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. finished 0-for-4 with an RBI against the Dodgers on Friday.

Advice: Typical Guerrero this year: he crushed a pair of grounders at 109.5 and 106.7 mph, yet his two flies were both hit softly. Statcast thinks he’s been unlucky, and he probably has been, but even his xBA and xSLG are down significantly from last year. Rotoworld 29 minutes ago
  • Jacob Young collects two hits in win over Marlins
Jacob Young went 2-for-3 with a pair of singles and a run scored on Friday night as the Nationals defeated the Marlins in Miami.

Advice: The speedy 24-year-old outfielder led off the sixth inning with a single and eventually came around to score the tying run as Joey Meneses grounded into a double play. With his two-hit attack, Young is now hitting .294/.333/.353 with zero homers, three RBI and six stolen bases through his first 56 plate appearances on the season. Rotoworld 31 minutes ago

  • Throwing and running
Canzone (shoulder) began a throwing and running program Friday, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Advice: General manager Justin Hollander added that the team hopes for Canzone to begin a hitting progression sometime next week, though he is still several weeks out from full baseball activities. The 26-year-old outfielder sprained the AC joint in his left shoulder April 14, and Hollander's comments suggest he is not close to returning anytime soon. Luke Raley and Jonatan Clase should continue splitting time in left field while Canzone works his way back. Rotowire.com 32 minutes ago
