Donovan extended his hitting streak to eight contests and snapped a streak of 26 games without a homer in the process.       Brendan Donovan hit his fifth homer Thursday to help the Cardinals edge the Pirates 4-3.

      Advice: Donovan has been dropped in the lineup, even against righties, but he’s making a case for another opportunity hitting first or second with his current eight-game hitting streak.       Donovan went 2-for-3 with a walk, one RBI, a stolen base and one run scored in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Pirates.

      Advice: Donovan extended his hitting streak to seven games. He's gone 9-for-27 (.333) in that span, but just one of those hits has gone for extra bases. The 27-year-old's steal Wednesday was his first of the season, and he's not much of a speed threat after logging just five thefts in 95 games a year ago. Donovan is up to a .247/.322/.368 slash line with four home runs, 28 RBI, 30 runs scored, 15 doubles and one triple over 270 plate appearances this season. He spent much of the first two months of the season batting leadoff versus right-handed pitchers, but Masyn Winn is now atop the order on a near-everyday basis, having hit there in all but two of 11 games in June.       Advice: Rengifo ended a mini 0-for-8 skid at the plate with two hits Sunday and managed to swipe two more bags to bring him up to 17 for the year. Rengifo already has five steals in eight games this month and now sits tied for sixth in baseball. He now has eight multi-hit efforts over his last 18 games and continues to be one of the most consistent hitters in the Angels' lineup.       Semien went 1-for-3 with a home run, two RBI, a stolen base and an additional run scored in Sunday's 7-2 win over San Francisco. He was also hit by a pitch.

      Advice: Semien was integral as the Rangers built an early 5-0 lead after two innings. He was hit by a pitch to lead off the bottom of the first, stole second base, then came home on Wyatt Langford's single. An inning later, Semien deposited a first-pitch slider into the stands in left for a two-run home run.       Luis Rengifo continued his thieving ways in Sunday’s victory over the Astros, going 2-for-4 with a run scored and a pair of stolen bases.

      Advice: Rengifo led off the fifth inning with a single off of Justin Verlander, swiped second base and then raced around to score on an RBI single by Willie Calhoun. He also reached on an error in the ninth inning and nabbed second again, but was ultimately stranded there. The versatile 27-year-old entered the season with 18 career stolen bases through his first 448 ballgames.     • Marcus Semien homers in win over Giants
      Marcus Semien went 1-for-3 with a home run, two RBI, and two runs scored in a 7-2 win over the Giants on Sunday.

      Advice: The home run was Semien’s 11th of the season to go along with 37 RBIs. He may not have the triple-slash that you expect to see from Semien, but the counting stats have been great and he is cemented into the leadoff spot for the Rangers. He’s one of the most consistent players in baseball, and so we expect the batting average and power to tick up; however, the lack of speed this season has been a bit concerning for the 33-year-old.
