• Clubs pair of homers
Turner went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and a solo home run during Monday's 6-5 win over the Royals.

Advice: Turner dominated Royals starter Jonathan Bowlan -- who was making his second career start -- notching home runs off him in the first and third innings. The contest doubled Turner's 2024 home run total and was his first multi-homer game since June of 2023. Through 28 games, Turner is slashing .311/.390/.533 with 15 RBI and 15 runs scored. • Secures fourth save
Neris worked around two walks to pitch a clean ninth inning and record the save in Monday's 3-1 win over the Mets. He struck out two.

Advice: Neris put a few runners on base, but he got out of trouble to secure his fourth save of the season. All of those saves have come in the last nine days, which coincides with Adbert Alzolay getting removed from the closer's role. The more success Neris has moving forward, the firmer his grip will get on the job, which will only increase his fantasy value. The veteran is the top Chicago reliever to target at the moment. • Justin Turner homers twice in win vs. Royals
Justin Turner went 2-for-5 with two home runs and three RBI in Monday’s 6-5 win against the Royals.

Advice: Turner has dominated the Royals this season. In five games against Kansas City this season, Turner is 6-for-14 (.429 AVG) with two homers and four RBI. It was the 39-year-old’s first multi HR game since last June when he hit two round trippers against the Yankees. Turner is boasting a .923 OPS through 28 games this season and if he’s producing like this, he’ll be a great addition to fantasy managers given he wasn’t much of a hot commodity heading into the season. • Héctor Neris notches fourth save Monday vs. Mets
Héctor Neris tossed a scoreless ninth inning on Monday against the Mets to record his fourth save of the season.

Advice: Neris continues to tighten his hold on Chicago’s closing role, converting four of his five save chances, including three in the last week alone since Adbert Alzolay was removed from the late-inning mix. The 34-year-old righty has allowed just one run over his last seven appearances since April 13. At this point, he should be rostered in all fantasy leagues. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:27 pm
  • Could be emerging from slump
Riley posted an exit velocity over 100 mph on three different balls Saturday but failed to get a hit on any of them, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Advice: The third baseman did collect two hits Sunday, including a walk-off single in the 10th inning, but for the most part Riley hasn't been getting results of late -- he hasn't homered in 18 straight games, slashing .222/.317/.319 over that stretch with five doubles, a triple and six RBI. Given the way he's swinging the bat, however, it seems only a matter of time before the 27-year-old heats up. Advanced metrics back up the idea that Riley's lack of production is mainly due to bad luck -- he sits in the 90th percentile in barrel rate on the season, right in line with his 2023 (89th percentile) and 2022 (96th percentile) campaigns. • Few concerns about slump
Olson hasn't hit a home run in 18 straight games, slashing .167/.291/.242 over that stretch with three doubles, one triple and seven RBI, but he remains among the league leaders in key hitting metrics, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Despite the first baseman's lack of production in April, Olson sits in the 97th percentile in hard-hit rate and average exit velocity on the season, numbers comparable to what he posted during his career-best 2023 campaign. It seems only a matter of time before the 30-year-old gets dialed in and begins racking up hits and homers. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:04 am

  • Delivers 11-strikeout gem
Pfaadt did not factor into the decision in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Mariners. He allowed two runs on five hits while striking out 11 over six innings.

Advice: Pfaadt did not get off to an ideal start after allowing a leadoff home run to Josh Rojas, though he was able to settle in quickly with the only other extra-base hit being a triple by Leonardo Rivas. Pfaadt ended his day by retiring the final 11 batters he faced. His 11 strikeouts set a new career high, and he relied heavily on his sweeper, registering nine of his 17 whiffs on that pitch. He's now allowed two runs or fewer in three straight starts and will take a 4.63 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 38:6 K:BB into his next start, projected to come against San Diego next weekend. • Stolen base in return to lineup
Cruz went 1-for-4 with a stolen base Sunday against the Giants.

Advice: Cruz was held out of Saturday's lineup after tweaking his ankle in the series opener against the Giants. He notably moved up the order to hit third in his return Sunday and seemed to put the injury issue behind him as he swiped his third base of the season. Cruz is off to a slow start to the campaign, but he's shown some improvement of late by going 8-for-22 with a 25 percent strikeout rate across his last seven games. Rotowire.com Sunday, 10:59 pm

  • Brandon Pfaadt fans 11 in no-decision vs. Mariners
Brandon Pfaadt was terrific in a no-decision against the Mariners on Sunday afternoon, piling up 11 strikeouts over six innings of two-run baseball.

Advice: The right-hander allowed five hits in the ballgame and didn’t walk a batter. He gave up a leadoff homer to Josh Rojas to start the game, then kept the Mariners off the board the rest of the away aside from an RBI single off the bat of Julio Rodriguez in the third inning. The 25-year-old hurler got an impressive 17 swings and misses in the ballgame — nine on his sweeper alone — leading to an elite CSW of 38 percent. Pfaadt will look to further improve upon his 4.63 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 38/6 K/BB ratio (35 innings) when he takes on the Padres at home on Saturday. Rotoworld Sunday, 4:08 pm
