• Returning to lineup Monday
Padres manager Mike Shildt said in an interview on MLB Network Radio on SiriusXM that Machado (hip) will be back in the lineup Monday versus the Athletics as the team's designated hitter.

Advice: Machado was held out of the lineup for the previous four games due to a strained right hip flexor, although he was able to pinch hit once over that stretch. He will be eased back into the mix Monday as the club's DH, with a return to third base coming "hopefully sooner than later," per Shildt. Rotowire.com Monday, 12:04 pm

  • Jump-starts win
Semien went 1-for-3 with a home run, two RBI, a stolen base and an additional run scored in Sunday's 7-2 win over San Francisco. He was also hit by a pitch.

Advice: Semien was integral as the Rangers built an early 5-0 lead after two innings. He was hit by a pitch to lead off the bottom of the first, stole second base, then came home on Wyatt Langford's single. An inning later, Semien deposited a first-pitch slider into the stands in left for a two-run home run. He's reached base safely in nine straight games, going 11-for-31 (.355) with seven walks, two homers, three RBI and eight runs scored. Rotowire.com Monday, 6:14 am

  • Marcus Semien homers in win over Giants
Marcus Semien went 1-for-3 with a home run, two RBI, and two runs scored in a 7-2 win over the Giants on Sunday.

Advice: The home run was Semien’s 11th of the season to go along with 37 RBIs. He may not have the triple-slash that you expect to see from Semien, but the counting stats have been great and he is cemented into the leadoff spot for the Rangers. He’s one of the most consistent players in baseball, and so we expect the batting average and power to tick up; however, the lack of speed this season has been a bit concerning for the 33-year-old. • Closing in on return
Turner (hamstring) said Sunday he's "getting close" to returning from the 10-day injured list, and it's possible he's activated within the next week, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Manager Rob Thomson indicated the shortstop is running at about 75-to-80 percent of full speed, which makes a return this week seem less likely. Turner isn't expected to embark on a rehab assignment before being reinstated, however, which shortens his potential return timeline. The 30-year-old will attempt to get back to running full speed this week in Boston, which could be one of the final hurdles before he's cleared for game action. Rotowire.com Sunday, 12:01 pm

  • Absence continuing Sunday
Machado (hip) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game versus the Diamondbacks, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Advice: Machado continues to nurse a strained right hip flexor and will sit Sunday for the fourth straight game. The 31-year-old appeared as a pinch hitter in the first of those absences Thursday but otherwise hasn't seen game action since he suffered the injury Wednesday. Donovan Solano is receiving another start at the hot corner in the series finale against Arizona. Rotowire.com Sunday, 10:29 am

  • Manny Machado (hip) out again Sunday
Manny Machado (hip) is not in the starting lineup for Sunday’s contest against the Padres.

Advice: Machado will get another day while dealing with the hip injury he suffered during Wednesday’s game against the Angels. He has been able to play as a pinch-hitter, however, and he has a chance to be available off the bench for the series finale as well. Donovan Solano is starting at third and hitting fifth in Machado’s absence. Rotoworld Sunday, 10:19 am

  • Scores lone run
Semien went 0-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in Saturday's 3-1 loss to San Francisco.

Advice: Semien, who had a seven-game hit streak halted, walked to lead off the bottom of the first inning and scored on a sacrifice fly. He leads the Rangers with 46 runs scored, which ranks tied for ninth in MLB. Rotowire.com Sunday, 6:57 am

  • On bench Sunday
Marte is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Phillies.

Advice: Marte was scratched from Wednesday's lineup against the Nationals due to a right knee issue, but the 35-year-old outfielder was able to make the trip to London. He started in Saturday's 7-2 loss, going 2-for-4 with an RBI double in the first inning. With Marte beginning Sunday's game in the dugout, the lefty-hitting DJ Stewart will start in right field and bat fifth against Phillies right-hander Taijuan Walker. Rotowire.com Sunday, 6:16 am

  • Knocks in go-ahead runs
Chourio went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI and a run in Saturday's 5-4 win over the Tigers.

Advice: The 20-year-old delivered a clutch two-out double in the sixth to give his team the lead for good. With this performance, Chourio now has a pair of multi-hit efforts and five RBI over his last four games. The rookie has had his share of up and downs, but he continues to be given opportunities as he's appeared in 55 of the Brewers 64 games this season despite his .216/.257/.347 line.
