• Goes five innings versus Rays
Singer allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits and two walks while striking out three over five innings in a no-decision versus the Rays on Saturday.

Advice: The Royals jumped out to a 2-0 lead after three innings, but Singer gave it back before his exit. The right-hander threw 57 of 90 pitches for strikes in a decent outing. He's been sharp this season, allowing one earned run or zero in eight of his 11 starts en route to a 2.63 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 64:19 K:BB through 61.2 innings. Singer's next start is projected to be at Minnesota. Rotowire.com Saturday, 5:27 pm
  • Singer allows one earned in no-decision vs. Rays
Brady Singer accumulated five innings while allowing two runs — one earned — in a start against the Rays on Saturday.

Advice: Singer’s results were fine, but he had to work hard for them while throwing 90 pitches. He walked two and struck out three, with the only earned run coming on a Jonathan Aranda homer. The 27-year-old now has a 2.63 ERA and 64/19 K/BB over his 11 starts, and he’ll look to keep the good run going with a scheduled outing with the Twins on Thursday. Rotoworld Saturday, 4:29 pm
  • Jordan Hicks strikes out eight Mets in no-decision
Jordan Hicks allowed one run with eight strikeouts over five innings in a no-decision against the Mets on Saturday.

Advice: Hicks allowed just two hits and two walks over five frames on Saturday against the Mets. One of those hits left the yard as Starling Marte took him deep for a solo shot in the second inning. Hicks was otherwise excellent, striking out eight batters on 19 whiffs. His velocity was back up to 95 mph after sitting below 92 mph his last time out. The 27-year-old right-hander has broken out as a starter in San Francisco, posting a 2.33 ERA, 1.09 WHIP, and a 48/19 K/BB ratio across 58 innings. He lines up for a home matchup against the Yankees on Friday. Rotoworld Saturday, 1:54 pm

  • Escapes with no-decision Friday
Harrison came away with a no-decision in Friday's 8-7 comeback win over the Mets, giving up five runs (four earned) on six hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out six.

Advice: The rookie southpaw got hit hard, serving up loud homers to J.D. Martinez and Mark Vientos in the fifth inning, and Harrison left the mound with the Giants down 5-2 before they once again rallied, becoming only the fourth team since 1900 to win three straight games that it had been trailing by at least four runs. Harrison has pitched into the sixth inning only once in his last five starts, and curiously the exception came at Coors Field. He'll take a 3.90 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 55:21 K:BB through 60 innings into his next outing, which is scheduled to come at home next week against the Phillies. Rotowire.com Saturday, 6:19 am

  • Kyle Harrison shaky in no-decision
Kyle Harrison allowed four earned runs across five innings on Friday against the Mets. He struck out six and walked two.

Advice: Harrison’s fastball was all over the place in this one and even hit Brandon Nimmo in the c-flap of his helmet. He still managed a fine outing despite plenty of traffic by the Mets and back-to-back home runs by J.D. Martinez and Mark Vientos. Harrison will take a 3.90 ERA into his next start against the streaking Phillies. Rotoworld Friday, 7:24 pm

  • Shota Imanaga pushed back until next week
Shota Imanaga will have his start pushed back until next week after Friday’s game against the Cardinals was postponed due to rain.

Advice: The 30-year-old southpaw did all of his pregame work and was ready to go before the rains came and wiped out Friday’s contest. The Cubs will stick with Jameson Taillon and Javier Assad for the final two games over the weekend, with Imanaga now set to take the hill against the Brewers next week. Rotoworld Friday, 7:07 pm
  • Friday's start rained out
Imanaga and the Cubs won't play the Cardinals on Friday due to inclement weather, Lynn Worthy of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Advice: Thursday's contest will be made up as part of a doubleheader July 13, and Imanaga's next outing will be pushed back to Chicago's upcoming series in Milwaukee early next week, per Maddie Lee of the Chicago Sun-Times. Rotowire.com Friday, 6:50 pm
  • John Means (forearm) to get second opinion
John Means will get a second opinion on his injured elbow.

Advice: The 31-year-old southpaw landed on the injured list with a left forearm strain on Thursday after exhibiting diminished velocity during Wednesday’s start against the Cardinals. It certainly sounds like he’s going to be looking at an extended absence, but we should have more clarity after he gets another opinion. Rotoworld Friday, 3:20 pm

  • Seeking second opinion
Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said Friday that Means will get a second opinion on his throwing elbow, Andy Kostka of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.

Advice: Means threw just three innings in his start Wednesday against the Cardinals, and he did not return to the mound following a rain delay. He landed on the 15-day injured list Thursday due to a left forearm strain, which was the same injury that caused him to start the season on the IL. Seeing that Means is getting a second opinion on the injury, the 31-year-old southpaw could be on the IL beyond the 15-day minimum. Rotowire.com Friday, 3:19 pm
