Iglesias then completed the shutout with a perfect 13-pitch ninth. The veteran closer hasn't posted his usual big strikeout numbers with just a 12:5 K:BB over 18.1 innings, but he's converted 11 of 13 save chances this season while registering a 2.45 ERA and 1.15 WHIP. The slugger simultaneously extended his hitting streak to 13 games, during which he's batting an even .400 with five long balls, three doubles and 11 RBI.     Advice: Verdugo’s career-high in home runs is just 13, but he has a nice spot in the middle of the Yankees’ order as the clean-up hitter against right-handed starting pitchers. Verdugo has 22 runs scored and 24 RBI in 46 games this season.

    Marcell Ozuna went 2-for-3 with a double, a home run, a walk and two runs scored against the Padres on Wednesday.



    Advice: Ozuna continues his monster season with his 14th home run of the year in the second game of the doubleheader. Only Gunnar Henderson and Kyle Tucker have more home runs this year. Ozuna hit 40 home runs last year and didn’t hit his 14th home run last year until June 22nd. His average is up to .327 and he has a 1.047 OPS this year.

  • Iglesias gets 11th save Monday
    Raisel Iglesias pitched a scoreless ninth inning to earn his 11th save of the season against the Padres on Monday.



    Advice: Iglesias had allowed one run in three of his previous six appearances, which included one blown save. He got the Padres to go quietly with a clean ninth inning to preserve the Braves 3-0 shutout victory. Iglesias had the last two days off and only threw 13 pitches so he should be well rested for his next appearance.

    Starling Marte was ejected from Monday’s game in the fourth inning for arguing balls and strikes.
