    • Spencer Steer snaps homerless streak Wednesday
      Spencer Steer clobbered a solo homer on Wednesday in the Reds’ loss to the Padres.

      Advice: Steer kicked off the scoring with a solo shot to left-center field -- his fourth round-tripper of the season -- off Padres starter Joe Musgrove in the opening frame. It was the first time he’s gone deep since April 6, snapping a bizarre 22-game homerless drought.       Santander is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Yankees.

      Advice: Santander will get a breather after he had started each of Baltimore's last 13 games while posting an .886 OPS. The 29-year-old isn't at any risk of losing hold of an everyday role, but he'll cede his spot in the lineup Wednesday to rookie Heston Kjerstad, who has played sparingly since being called up from Triple-A Norfolk on April 23.       Freeman went 1-for-3 with a solo home run during Sunday's 3-1 loss to Toronto.

      Advice: Steer moved from his usual left field to first base, replacing the injured Christian Encarnacion-Strand (hand). The run batted in was just his second in the last 14 games, but Speer continues to the lead the club with 20 RBI through 28 games. The steal was his seventh, nearly half of the 15 he had over 156 games in 2023. Encarnacion-Strand may miss a few more games, per Mark Sheldon of MLB.com, and Steer could add to his games played at first base. So far, he's made four appearances there.       Freddie Freeman went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in a loss to the Blue Jays on Sunday

      Advice: Freeman hit a 425-foot blast off of Kevin Gausman that left the bat at 106.3 mph. It’s just his second home run on the season to fo along with an impressive 19 RBI. Freeman is hitting .306/.425/.435 on the season and while the power may not be as prevalent as he continues to get along, the rest of his offensive profile as remained tremendous.       Advice: Steer snapped an 0-for-18 skid in the third inning then stole his sixth base in 26 games and is on pace to surpass the 15 steals he had in 2023. That's the good fantasy news.     • Freddie Freeman scalds RBI double in Dodgers’ win
      Freddie Freeman went 2-for-3 with an RBI double on Thursday, lifting the Dodgers to a 2-1 victory over the Nationals.

      Advice: Freeman has flown a bit under the radar with Mookie Betts and Shohei Ohtani justifiably stealing the early-season spotlight. However, his latest multi-hit performance puts his batting average back above the .300 mark for the first time this season. The 34-year-old fantasy stalwart has shown zero signs of slowing down at this stage of his career and remains an elite four-category contributor also capable of chipping in the occasional stolen base.     • Lands on IL with rib fractures
      Cubs manager Craig Counsell confirmed that Bellinger has been placed on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with right rib fractures, Andy Martinez of Marquee Sports Network reports.

      Advice: Bellinger was removed from Tuesday's 7-2 win over the Astros with what the team had labeled as a right rib contusion, after initial X-rays had returned negative. However, after Bellinger was sent in for a CT scan earlier Wednesday, he was found to have suffered two fractures, and he'll now be forced to miss at least the next week and a half while he heals up from the injury, according to Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune. The Cubs called up Pete Crow-Armstrong from Triple-A Iowa in a corresponding move, and he could end up serving as the primary replacement for Bellinger in center field if Counsell wants to prioritize defense over offense.
