• Blasts homer in loss
Turang went 2-for-4 with a solo home run Monday in a loss to the Angels.

Advice: Turang plated the final run of the contest with his 419-foot solo shot in the fifth inning. The second-year infielder has gone deep four times through 68 games this season after hitting six homers in 137 contests last year. Turang's skill set is more centered on speed than power, so anything fantasy managers get in the homer department is a nice bonus. The speedster has made a big impact on the rosters of fantasy managers who had the foresight to pick him up late in fantasy drafts or on the waiver wire, as he's slashing .291/.359/.406 on the season with 25 RBI, 35 runs and 26 stolen bases in 27 attempts. • Belts two homers
O'Neill went 2-for-4 with two solo home runs and a walk in Monday's win over Toronto.

Advice: O'Neill hit two of Boston's four home runs for his first multi-homer game since April 5. He's up to 14 long balls this season, but just six of those have come since the start of May. The slugging outfielder is slashing .258/.354/.534 with 25 RBI through 206 plate appearances. O'Neill has gone 11-for-30 (.367) with five multi-hit performances in eight games this month. • Fans six in no-decision
Fried allowed a run on four hits and three walks over 5.1 innings in a no-decision Monday. He struck out six during the win over Detroit.

Advice: Fried worked five scoreless frames until the Tigers finally broke through with a run in the sixth inning. He wasn't very efficient Monday, throwing 60 of 103 pitches for strikes while failing to complete six innings for the second straight outing. Fried dropped his ERA to 3.11 with a 76:27 K:BB through 84 innings. He's currently in line for a tough road matchup with the Yankees this weekend. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:18 pm

  • O’Neill blasts two home runs against Jays Monday
Tyler O’Neill went 2-for-4 with two solo home runs against the Blue Jays on Monday.

Advice: O’Neill’s two home runs give him 14 on the season. He took Toronto starter Yusei Kikuchi deep in the first inning and again in the third inning. O’Neill was the designated hitter on Monday, but seems to be over his knee discomfort. He’s hitting .258 with an .888 OPS and 25 RBI on the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:13 pm

  • Fried allows one run in no-decision
Max Fried allowed one run in 5 1/3 innings and got a no-decision in the Braves’ 2-1 victory over the Tigers on Monday.

Advice: Fried gave up four hits, walked three and struck out six. He left the game with two on and one out in the sixth inning, but Jesse Chavez escaped the jam without further damage. It was a solid start for Fried, though the Braves couldn’t provide him with any run support while he was in the game. He continues to have a nice season as he lowered his ERA to 3.11 with the effort. The 30-year-old left-hander is set to face the Yankees on the road this weekend.

  • Reds’ Christian Encarnacion-Strand to 60-day IL
Reds transferred 3B Christian Encarnacion-Strand from the 10-day to the 60-day injured list.

Advice: There still hasn’t been any word on whether CES will opt for season-ending surgery on his right hand. This officially rules him out until July 7, but there was no chance of him returning prior to the break anyway. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:11 pm
  • Shifts to 60-day IL
The Reds transferred Encarnacion-Strand (wrist) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Monday.

Advice: Encarnacion-Strand had been on the IL since May 8 with a right ulnar styloid fracture and wasn't expected to begin a rehab assignment anytime soon, so the move to the 60-day IL won't affect his eventual timeline for a return. According to Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer, manager David Bell reiterated Monday that Encarnacion-Strand remains in a bit of a holding pattern in his recovery from the injury. After he had been expected to increase his activity earlier this month, Encarnacion-Strand's rehab progression was put on pause when he sought a second opinion on his wrist from a specialist, who determined that the 24-year-old was dealing with ligament damage. Bell said that the Reds will wait a few more days to see how Encarnacion-Strand's wrist responds to rest before a determination is made on his next step, which could include anything from resuming baseball activities to going under the knife for season-ending surgery. • Taking seat versus lefty
Burleson is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Marlins.

Advice: After starting in each of the Cardinals' last 29 games, Burleson will finally get a break in the series opener in Miami. With southpaw Braxton Garrett on the bump for Miami, Cardinals skipper Oliver Marmol likely viewed it as an opportune time to give the lefty-hitting Burleson a day off. Dylan Carlson will step in for Burleson in right field. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:42 am

  • Gives up three runs in rehab start
Ray (elbow) surrendered three earned runs on four hits while striking out three in 1.2 innings during his third rehab start in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League on Thursday.

Advice: Ray struck out eight while allowing just one baserunner in three innings between his first two rehab outings, but he hit his first bump in the road Thursday. Three of the four hits he allowed went for extra bases, including a two-run home run in the first inning. On a positive note, Ray peppered the strike zone like he had his previous two outings, spotting 24 of his 31 pitches for strikes. According to MLB.com, Ray is scheduled to make another appearance in the ACL on Tuesday, and if all goes well, he could be cleared to advance to a higher-level affiliate his next time out. The veteran southpaw is coming back from May 3, 2023 Tommy John surgery and is expected to exhaust his 30-day rehab window before potentially returning from the 60-day injured list and joining the San Francisco rotation around the All-Star break.
