    • Luis Arraez (shoulder) doesn’t play against Angels
      Luis Arraez, day-to-day with a shoulder injury, was quite obviously not available as a pinch-hitter Monday in a 2-1 loss to the Angels.

      Advice: Padres manager Mike Shildt indicated before the game that Arraez might be available off the bench tonight but then held him out while using David Peralta and Tyler Wade as pinch-hitters in the seventh and ninth innings, respectively.     • Goes deep, swipes bag
      Machado went 1-for-2 with a solo home run, two walks and a stolen base in Monday's loss to the Angels.

      Advice: Machado's solo shot in the first inning was the lone run for the Padres in Monday's loss. He was intentionally walked twice and also stole his fourth base of the year. The long ball snapped a brutal 26-game drought since his last homer May 3; during that cold streak, he posted a .591 OPS.     • Rodgers hits third home run Monday
      Brendan Rodgers went 2-for-4 with two runs scored, a double and a solo home run against the Reds on Monday.

      Advice: Rodgers’ home run was his third of the season. He now has a hit in 11 of his last 12 games and is 15-for-47 (.319) with two home runs and eight RBI in that time. Rodgers will continue to see regular at-bats in the Rockies lineup and even gets to bat second against left-handed pitchers, making him an option in deeper formats.       Gorman went 2-for-3 with two solo home runs in a 7-4 loss to the Astros on Monday.

      Advice: Gorman hit solo home runs off Justin Verlander in the first and fifth innings and added a walk in the third. Gorman has been on an absolute binge in his past 10 games, tallying five multi-hit efforts, six home runs and 12 RBI since May 21.       Alvarez went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run and two runs scored in a 7-4 win over the Cardinals on Monday.

      Advice: Alvarez hit a two-run home run off Kyle Gibson in the third inning, then doubled and scored a run in the sixth. The homer was Alvarez's third in as many games, and he now has four multi-hit efforts in his past seven contests.       Vientos went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, two walks and an additional run scored in Monday's 8-7 win over Washington.

      Advice: Vientos hit a solo home run off Nationals starter MacKenzie Gore in the fourth inning, his second long ball over his past three games. The 24-year-old continues to crush left-handed pitching, entering Monday's game with a .444/.483/.815 slash line against southpaws.       Jeimer Candelario went 2-for-5 with two runs scored and a two-run home run against the Rockies on Monday.

      Advice: Benson singled and scored in the third inning before hitting a two-run triple and scoring again in the fourth. He capped off his day with an RBI sacrifice fly in the sixth. Benson had gone 29 straight games since his last multi-hit performance April 29; during that stretch, he went 13-for-74 (.176).
