    • Breaks home run drought
McGuire went 2-for-3 with a solo home run during Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Rays.

Advice: McGuire went yard in the ninth inning off of Erasmo Ramirez, marking the catchers' third homer of the season and his first since April 7. McGuire has been operating as the backup to Connor Wong in May, and he hasn't shown enough at the plate to warrant more playing time since, batting .214 with Tuesday's long ball being his only extra-base hit during the month. • Collects three hits
Paredes went 3-for-5 with a two-RBI double during Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Red Sox.

Advice: Paredes plated Josh Lowe and Randy Arozarena on a first-inning double to give the Rays an early lead. However, Tampa Bay wouldn't score again in the game, going 0-for-6 with runners in scoring position outside of Paredes' double. The third baseman has generated multiple hits in five of his last 10 games and leads the Rays in home runs and RBI on the year. Rotowire.com 21 minutes ago

    • Steals home, goes yard
Duran went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a steal of home base during Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Rays.

Advice: The Red Sox executed a first-and-third double-steal perfectly in the eighth inning, as the throw to second to catch Rafael Devers stealing was cut off early and returned to home wasn't in time to tag the speedy Duran. Duran has hit safely in seven straight games, batting 10-for-27 (.370) with a pair of triples, solo home runs and stolen bases during that stretch. Rotowire.com 25 minutes ago

    • Abraham Toro hits go-ahead homer in eighth
Abraham Toro hit a go-ahead homer in the bottom of the eighth Tuesday as the A’s came back to defeat the Rockies 5-4.

Advice: Toro’s blast came after Seth Brown tied the game with a two-run homer in the seventh. Toro, who was supposed to become a reserve due to the J.D. Davis acquisition at the end of the spring, has won back his job by hitting .294/.344/.459 in 183 plate appearances. His current .341 BABIP is more than 100 points higher than his .229 mark over his first five seasons. Rotoworld 27 minutes ago

    • Aaron Brooks delivers quality start versus Rockies
Aaron Brooks gave the A’s another quality start by allowing three runs in six innings Tuesday at home against the Rockies.

Advice: This is definitely pushing the boundaries of the quality start; not only did he do the bare minimum in allowing three runs in six innings, but he was doing so against the road-team version of the Rockies in a strong pitcher’s park in Oakland. Still, he gave the A’s a chance to win, and they did so by scoring three runs off the Rockies pen. Brooks should remain in the rotation and face the Astros next. Rotoworld 27 minutes ago

    • Mason Miller strikes out side for ninth save
Mason Miller struck out all three batters he faced Tuesday against the Rockies for his first save of the month.

Advice: Miller earned eight saves from Apr. 9-30, but the A’s hadn’t had any save situations for him since. Given that he also pitched Sunday, it’s possible he’ll now require Wednesday off. The A’s have allowed him to pitch on consecutive days twice, but they haven’t had him work three times in four days. That it’s a day game Wednesday doesn’t help. Rotoworld 27 minutes ago

    • Cal Quantrill strikes out eight against A’s
Cal Quantrill yielded two runs in six innings and struck out eight against the A’s on Tuesday.

Advice: The Rockies ought to be shopping Quantrill now; it’s hard to imagine he’ll have more trade value at the deadline than he does currently with his 3.59 ERA and a 44/21 K/BB ratio in 57 2/3 innings. That 18.6% K rate is a huge improvement over last year’s mark of 13.1% with Cleveland. Rotoworld 27 minutes ago

    • Justin Lawrence takes blown save in seventh inning
Justin Lawrence took a blown save in the seventh after giving up a two-run homer to Oakland’s Seth Brown on Tuesday.

Advice: Jalen Beeks’ hold on the closer’s role in Colorado got a little stronger tonight. Lawrence, who has been dealing with an inflated ERA since giving up four earned runs in his second outing of the season, had been pitching well in amassing a 1.08 ERA this month. Still, he really needs to cut down on the walks; he’s issued 12 in 19 1/3 innings this season. Rotoworld 27 minutes ago
    • Ezequiel Tovar homers twice against A’s
Ezequiel Tovar hit a pair of solo homers Tuesday in a losing cause against the A’s.

Advice: In spite of his willingness to swing at anything and everything, Tovar has managed to hit .279/.313/.468 this season. His second homer today, projected at 443 feet, was the second longest of his career and easily the longest among those to come away from Coors Field. He’s actually hit 14 of his 23 career homers on the road, though his batting average is far better at home (.287 to .229). Rotoworld 28 minutes ago
