    • Fills in at first base
Steer started at first base and went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and an RBI in Sunday's 4-3 loss to Texas.

Advice: Steer moved from his usual left field to first base, replacing the injured Christian Encarnacion-Strand (hand). The run batted in was just his second in the last 14 games, but Speer continues to the lead the club with 20 RBI through 28 games. The steal was his seventh, nearly half of the 15 he had over 156 games in 2023. Encarnacion-Strand may miss a few more games, per Mark Sheldon of MLB.com, and Steer could add to his games played at first base. So far, he's made four appearances there. • Sitting vs. southpaw
O'Hearn is not in the Orioles' starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Athletics.

Advice: With the Athletics sending out left-hander JP Sears, the lefty-hitting O'Hearn will open Saturday's game in the dugout. Adley Rutschman will start at designated hitter while James McCann forms a battery with starting pitcher Cole Irvin. Rotowire.com Saturday, 9:24 am

    • Jonathan Aranda (finger) starts rehab assignment
Jonathan Aranda (finger) started a minor league rehab assignment on Friday with Triple-A Durham.

Advice: Aranda wound up landing on the injured list towards the end of spring training after suffering a broken right finger. The 25-year-old figures to be ready to make his season debut in early May after getting in a couple rehab games for Triple-A Durham. Rotoworld Saturday, 8:19 am

    • Begins rehab assignment
Aranda (finger) joined Triple-A Durham on Friday to begin a rehab assignment, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Aranda played in a pair of extended spring training games before heading to Durham. He was able to do everything but swing a bat for the majority of his recovery, so he may not need much time in the minors before being activated. Rotowire.com Saturday, 7:25 am

    • Snaps slump, logs steal
Steer went 1-for-2 with two walks and a stolen base in Friday's 2-1 loss to the Rangers.

Advice: Steer snapped an 0-for-18 skid in the third inning then stole his sixth base in 26 games and is on pace to surpass the 15 steals he had in 2023. That's the good fantasy news. On the other side, that hitless run came at the tail end of a 5-for-40 (.125) stretch with no extra-base hits and one RBI over 11 games. Rotowire.com Saturday, 6:58 am

    • Takes seat versus lefty
O'Hearn is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels.

Advice: The lefty-hitting O'Hearn will retreat to the bench while southpaw Tyler Anderson toes the rubber for the Angels. O'Hearn's absence clears up the designated-hitter spot for Adley Rutschman, allowing Rutschman to get a day out of the field while James McCann handles catching duties for Baltimore. • Rehab assignment coming soon
Manager Kevin Cash said Aranda (finger) is expected to begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Durham later this week, Steve Carney of StPeteNine.com reports.

Advice: Aranda had the pins removed from his surgically repaired right ring finger a week ago, and he looks to be nearing a return to game action. The 25-year-old has been sidelined for the past month, so he'll need a good number of rehab at-bats before being activated from the 10-day injured list. Aranda had been in line to serve as the Rays' primary designated hitter against right-handed pitching before getting hurt. Rotowire.com Monday, 2:15 pm

    • Three doubles in win
Santander went 3-for-5 with three doubles, two RBI and one run scored in Saturday's 9-7 win over the Royals.

Advice: This was Santander's first three-hit game of the season and just his fourth multi-hit effort. The outfielder is starting to warm up, going 7-for-15 (.467) over his last four contests following a three-game slump. Overall, Santander is slashing .237/.289/.474 with four home runs, 17 RBI, 10 runs scored and six doubles over 19 contests. Rotowire.com Apr 21, 10:27 am
