    • Brent Rooker goes deep as A’s fall to Mariners
Brent Rooker socked his 10th dinger of the season on Sunday as the Athletics fell to the Mariners in Seattle.

Advice: The 29-year-old outfielder clubbed a 411-foot (113.4 mph EV) two-run shot off of Cody Bolton in the eighth inning, pulling the A’s to within four runs at 8-4. He also singled in the ballgame, finishing the day 2-for-4. On the season, he’s hitting an impressive .292/.380/.632 with 10 homers, 27 RBI and a pair of stolen bases for good measure. • Another multi-hit performance
Rooker went 2-for-4 with an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base in Saturday's win over Seattle while also drawing a walk.

Advice: Rooker singled in each of his first two at-bats, with the latter one driving home Brett Harris to put the A's on top 2-1. The right fielder would also draw a walk in the eighth before stealing second and coming around to score Oakland's fifth run of the game on a Max Schuemann double. Rooker has now hit safely in five straight games and has recorded multiple hits in three of his last four overall, posting one homer, four RBI and five runs scored over that latter stretch. • Sitting versus southpaw
Abreu is out of the starting lineup for Sunday's series finale against the Nationals, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Abreu will begin Sunday's game in the dugout as Washington sends out left-hander MacKenzie Gore. Ceddanne Rafaela will start in center field, while Jarren Duran and Tyler O'Neill man left and right field, respectively. Abreu hit a solo home run in the bottom of the third inning in Saturday's 4-2 win. He's slashing .284/.378/.480 with three home runs and 14 RBI over 119 plate appearances this season. • Crushes grand slam in win
Hernandez went 1-for-4 with a grand slam in Saturday's win over the Padres.

Advice: Hernandez jumped on a hanging slider after being down 1-2 in the count with two outs in the sixth and sent it over the wall in left field for a grand slam, putting the Dodgers up 5-0. It marked the outfielder's 11th home run of the season and the fifth in his last eight games. He's now tied with Salvador Perez, Jose Ramirez and Juan Soto for second in the majors with 33 RBI on the season. Rotowire.com Sunday, 6:09 am
    • Teoscar Hernández hits grand slam to beat Padres
Teoscar Hernández slugged a grand slam on Saturday, lifting the Dodgers to a 5-0 victory over the Padres.

Advice: Hernández continues to make a significant impact in his Los Angeles debut. The 31-year-old lefty-mashing corner outfielder gave the Dodgers a commanding five-run advantage in the sixth inning by taking Padres reliever Enyel De Los Santos deep to left field for his 11th round-tripper of the season. He’s never going to be a standout in the batting average department at this stage of his career, but he’s continuing to hit for a ton of power and has been a run-producing machine in the heart of the Dodgers’ loaded lineup. • Hits game-tying blast
Santander went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Saturday's 5-4 extra-innings win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Santander's eighth-inning blast was what ultimately forced extra innings Saturday. The outfielder has gone deep three times and driven in seven runs over his last five games. For the season, Santander is sporting a .217/.301/.449 slash line with seven long balls, 25 RBI, 20 runs scored, nine doubles and a triple. He still has yet to attempt a stolen base this season. Santander's production is generally in line with what he did last year, aside from modest dips in his rate stats. Rotowire.com Saturday, 11:55 pm

    • Two more RBI
Steer went 2-for-3 with a walk, a double and two RBI in Friday's 4-2 win over San Francisco.

Advice: Steer's first-inning, two-out double plated the Reds' first run, then his third-inning single tied the game. He has four RBI in the last two games and leads the Reds with 27 runs driven in. Rotowire.com Saturday, 9:27 am

    • Finding stride at plate
Acuna went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Friday's win over the Mets.

Advice: He took Jose Quintana deep in the third inning, part of a four-run frame for Atlanta. Acuna may be turning things around at the plate -- after posting a 26.5 percent strikeout rate in April, he's fanned just 19.4 percent of the time through the first seven games in May. He's also batting .310 (9-for-29) to begin the month with two of his three homers on the season. Rotowire.com Saturday, 7:31 am
    • Ronald Acuña Jr. goes deep in win
Ronald Acuña Jr. hit just his third home run of the season Friday in a win over the Mets.

Advice: A welcome sight, Acuña’s homer was an impressive shot traveling an estimated 461 feet through the cold, rainy New York night at 114.2 mph exit velocity. Acuña’s power hasn’t been there yet this season, but patience is a virtue with a superstar of this level. Rotoworld Friday, 7:50 pm
