    • Charged with blown save
Miller struck out one batter and walked one over 1.2 innings Friday. He was charged with a blown save during the loss to Minnesota.

Advice: Miller entered the game in the eighth innings with the bases jammed and immediately walked in the game-tying run. He then retired five straight batters before the Twins went on to win in the 10th inning. Miller's ERA dropped to 2.27, as he was not charged with a run, but he's now blown two of his last three save chances dating back to May 30. Rotowire.com 34 minutes ago

    • Takes third loss
Smith (0-3) allowed an unearned run on two hits and struck out one in one-third of an inning to take the loss Friday versus the Dodgers.

Advice: Smith gave up a run for the first time since May 22, though it was deemed unearned since Mookie Betts advanced to second base on an error before Freddie Freeman brought him home with an RBI single. After a rough start to the year cost him his high-leverage role, Smith has allowed just three runs (two earned) over his last 14.2 innings, though he has a mediocre 10:3 K:BB in that span. The veteran southpaw is at a 5.40 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 17:8 K:BB with one save, five holds and one blown save through 21.2 innings overall. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:10 pm
    • J.D. Martinez doubles home two in win
J.D. Martinez went 1-for-3 with a double, walk, and two RBI on Friday against the Padres.

Advice: Martinez’s double was the extent of the Mets’ damage against Matt Waldron and offense in general on Friday. He’s now driven in the last four runs for the Mets going back to his walk-off home run on Thursday and is sporting an 18 game on-base streak. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:13 pm
    • Fans seven in win
Sale (9-2) allowed two runs on five hits and two walks over seven innings Friday, striking out seven and earning a win over the Rays.

Advice: Sale coughed up a run before recording an out in the first inning but settled in for a strong quality start in the win. He forced 17 swinging strikes, including 12 on the slider. It was Sale's second consecutive quality start and sixth in his last seven appearances. The veteran lefty has posted a 2.60 ERA over 45 innings during that span. For the season, he owns a 2.98 ERA with a 99:13 K:BB through 13 outings. Sale's next start is lined up to be on the road against the Yankees. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:51 pm

    • Chris Sale strikes out seven in win
Chris Sale allowed two earned runs across seven innings in a 7-3 win over the Rays on Friday. He struck out seven and walked two.

Advice: Sale was his usual emotional and demonstrative self on the mound even after being handed a huge lead early and that intensity carried him to another great start. This was the fifth time in six starts Sale completed seven innings and the eighth time he’s done so already this season. He’s been one of the most valuable pitchers in baseball this season, stepping into the ace role for Atlanta without Spencer Strider. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:06 pm

    • Return might come Monday
Turner (hamstring) could be activated from the 10-day injured list on Sunday or Monday, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Advice: While the Phillies have been vague about Turner's timetable, Gelb notes that the shortstop ran again Friday and while he could "maybe" return Sunday, it will "probably" happen Monday. Philadelphia begins a six-game homestand on Monday against the Padres. Turner has been shelved since early May with a left hamstring strain and it's looking like he'll skip a rehab assignment. • Belts first career walk-off homer
Martinez went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and a double Thursday in a 3-2 win against the Marlins.

Advice: Martinez accounted for both of New York's extra-base hits in the victory, with his first knock being a seventh-inning double that contributed to the team's first run. The veteran slugger's second hit was more dramatic -- he took Miami closer Tanner Scott deep for a two-run, walk-off homer in the bottom of the ninth inning. It was Martinez's 321st career long ball and the first walk-off home run of his 14-year career. He's gone deep six times through 168 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:32 am
    • J.D. Martinez hits walk-off blast against Marlins
J.D. Martinez slugged a game-winning two-run homer on Thursday, lifting the Mets to a 3-2 walk-off victory over the Marlins.

Advice: Martinez’s walk-off shot came against Marlins stopper Tanner Scott in the bottom of the ninth inning and was his sixth round-tripper of the year. It was also somehow his first career walk-off homer in 14 seasons in the big leagues since 2011. He’s now hitting .271 with 21 RBI in 41 games for the Mets this year. Rotoworld Thursday, 7:05 pm
    • Trea Turner (hamstring) running at 100 percent
Trea Turner (hamstring) progressed to running at 100 percent on Thursday.

Advice: Turner is trending towards making his long-awaited return to Philadelphia’s lineup at some point early next week. It sounds like the 30-year-old shortstop will skip a minor-league rehab assignment, but it wouldn’t be shocking to see him get in a couple at-bats over the weekend prior to returning.
