    • Collects three hits
Alvarez went 3-for-5 with a run scored and two RBI in Monday's win against Texas.

Advice: Alvarez singled and scored in the fifth inning before delivering RBI base hits in the sixth and eighth frames. He entered Monday's game in a 2-for-14 (.143) slump since returning from the injured list. Alvarez produced his first multi-hit game since April 11. He's now slashing .243/.282/.338 with 12 RBI through 23 games this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:41 pm
    • Resting for day game
Alvarez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Padres.

Advice: Alvarez will get a breather for the day game Sunday after he started behind the plate Friday and Saturday. Luis Torrens will step in as the Mets' starting catcher in place of Alvarez, who has gone 2-for-14 with two RBI through his first four starts since returning from the 10-day injured list Tuesday. • Sitting out Thursday
Alvarez is not in the lineup for Thursday's contest versus the Marlins.

Advice: Alvarez started at catcher in the first two games of the series after being activated from the 10-day injured list, but he will sit out the finale. Luis Torrens will do the catching for Luis Severino. Rotowire.com Thursday, 12:09 pm
    • Mets activate Alvarez (thumb) off injured list
Mets activated C Francisco Alvarez off the 10-day injured list.

Advice: Alvarez is back after missing close to six weeks while recovering from left thumb surgery. The 22-year-old should see the overwhelming majority of reps behind the plate, and the power in his right-handed bat makes him worthy of fantasy consideration in most formats. Just keep in mind that he’s not likely to fill out many other categories in 2024. Rotoworld Tuesday, 10:59 am
    • Activated from injured list
The Mets activated Alvarez (thumb) from the 10-day injured list Tuesday, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

Advice: Alvarez has been sidelined since late April with a fractured left thumb but is ready to roll after playing in six rehab games. It's possible the Mets will ease him back into everyday action with some extra off days mixed in, but he will immediately regain his role as the club's primary catcher. Alvarez was slashing .236/.288/.364 with one home run in 16 contests before getting hurt. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 10:42 am
    • Resumes rehab in Brooklyn
Alvarez (thumb) resumed his rehab assignment Sunday with High-A Brooklyn, starting at catcher while going 0-for-5 in a 7-6 loss to Aberdeen.

Advice: After going 3-for-14 with a home run and three walks across the first five games of his rehab assignment, Alvarez had been out of the Brooklyn lineup for each of the previous three days while tending to a family matter in his native Venezuela. He rejoined Brooklyn for its final game of the week, and though he came up empty at the plate, getting additional at-bats under his belt is the more pressing concern for Alvarez as he looks to prove he's made a full recovery from the left thumb surgery he underwent in late April. If the Mets are comfortable with Alvarez's health coming out of Sunday's contest, he could be activated from the 10-day injured list for the start of the big club's series with the Marlins that begins Tuesday.
