    Enmanuel Valdez doubled and drove in the Red Sox’ lone run in Friday night’s loss to the Yankees.

    Advice: The 25-year-old infielder smacked an RBI double off of the center field wall off of Luis Gil in the fourth inning, pulling the Red Sox to within two runs at 3-1. That would be as close as they would get. He also drew a walk in the contest, finishing the night 1-for-2. On the season, Valdez is hitting just .203/.246/.407 with five homers and 23 RBI.     Caballero was removed from Friday's game against Atlanta due to an illness, Ryan Bass of Bally Sports Sun reports.

    Hamilton batted second and went 1-for-5 with a stolen base, an RBI and a run scored in Thursday's 9-3 win over Philadelphia.

    Advice: Hamilton's good stretch of hitting led to him batting second for the second consecutive game against a right-hander, and the shortstop extended his hit streak to five games.     Taylor Walls is taking a seat against a left-hander Thursday against the Cubs.
