Shane Drohan (shoulder) is beginning his rehab assignment.

  • Strikes out five in no-decision
Stone did not factor into the decision Friday against Atlanta, allowing one run on five hits one walk over six innings. He struck out five.

Advice: Stone looked solid Friday night against a tough Atlanta lineup, generating 14 whiffs and five punchouts. His only blemish on the evening was a 449-foot solo shot allowed to Austin Riley in the first inning. Stone has made four straight starts allowing two or fewer runs, tossing a 2.35 ERA in 23 innings over that span. The Dodgers right-hander is slated to make his next start against the Marlins at home. • Effective in no-decision
Morton did not factor into the decision Friday against the Dodgers, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out five.

Advice: Morton held the vaunted Dodgers lineup in check Friday night, pitching well enough to earn his third straight quality start. Over those three starts, the 40-year-old has thrown 19 innings to the tune of a 1.89 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 15:5 K:BB. Morton is slated to face the Mets on the road in his next start. • Charlie Morton holds LAD to two runs in no-decision
Charlie Morton gave up two runs in six innings against the Dodgers on Friday while not factoring into the decision.

Advice: Morton continues his good run, but it comes without a win as Atlanta didn’t provide him the necessary run support. The right-hander lowered his season ERA to 3.50 while scattering five hits with two walks and five strikeouts. Morton didn’t look good in the middle of April, but the 40-year-old has been a very strong option outside of those two outings where he gave up 12 of the 14 runs he’s given up in 2024. He gets the Mets on Friday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:15 pm
  • Gavin Stone limits Atlanta to one run over six
Gavin Stone didn’t factor into the decision against Atlanta on Friday despite allowing just one run over six innings.

Advice: Stone was excellent, but the Dodgers blew a late lead to prevent him from picking up the win. The 25-year-old threw 58-of-86 pitches for strikes while fanning five and issuing just one walk. Stone isn’t missing bats at an elite level, but it’s tough to argue with the results thus far. He gets a tasty matchup against the Marlins next week. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:15 pm

  • Dazzles in victory
Cease (4-2) earned the win Friday against the Diamondbacks, allowing one run, three hits and no walks over 6.2 innings. He struck out eight.

Advice: Cease continued his brilliant start to the season Friday night, generating 18 whiffs en route to eight strikeouts. The erstwhile White Sox pitcher appears to have re-found his 2022 form, pitching to the tune of a 2.55 ERA, 0.80 WHIP and 48:14 K:BB over 42.1 innings. Cease looks to keep it rolling in his next start, scheduled against the Cubs in Chicago. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:10 pm
  • Shelled in loss
Cecconi (1-2) took the loss Friday against the Padres, yielding six runs on five hits and two walks over 4.1 innings. He struck out four.

Advice: Cecconi cruised through the San Diego lineup once, retiring the first nine batters in order. However, he floundered in the fourth, allowing four runs, two walks and three extra base hits, including back-to-back homers to Fernando Tatis and Jake Cronenworth. Cecconi looks to bounce back in his next start, scheduled against Cincinnati on the road. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:06 pm
  • Quality in loss
Weathers (2-3) took the loss Friday against the Athletics, allowing three runs on five hits and no walks over six innings. He struck out five.

Advice: Despite yielding three runs, Weathers completed six innings to collect his second quality start of the season. Most importantly, the Miami lefty was able to control the free passes Friday night, allowing no walks for the first time since a June 15, 2023 start against Cleveland as member of the Padres. Weathers is scheduled to make his next start against the Dodgers on the road. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:44 pm
  • Slade Cecconi falters late in loss to Padres
Slade Cecconi surrendered six runs in 4 1/3 innings while being charged with a loss Friday to the Padres.

Advice: Cecconi was good over the first three innings. The other two innings were anything but. He gave up a four-spot in the fourth inning, and another run was charged to the right-hander after he left on a Manny Machado homer. The 24-year-old pitched well against the Mariners and Giants over his previous two starts, and again, the first three innings showed what he’s capable of. He’ll look to rebound against the Reds on Thursday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:25 pm
