    • Three hits in Wednesday's loss
Rodriguez went 3-for-5 with a double and a run scored in Wednesday's 5-2 loss to Atlanta.

Advice: After going 0-for-8 in the first two games of the series, Rodriguez's bat woke up against Chris Sale. The 23-year-old outfielder has only had one sustained hot streak so far in 2024, but he's capable of sparking another one at any time. Through 129 plate appearances, Rodriguez is slashing .270/.310/.328 with one homer, seven steals, 11 RBI and 12 runs. Rotowire.com Today, 6:42 am

    • Secures eighth save
Iglesias gave up a hit and a walk in a scoreless ninth inning Wednesday to record his eighth save of the season in a 5-2 win over the Mariners.

Advice: It wasn't the sharpest appearance for Iglesias, who put two batters on base before getting an out, but he settled down and took care of the heart of Seattle's order without too much more trouble. The right-hander has converted eight of his nine save chances to begin the year while posting a typically stingy 2.19 ERA and 1.05 WHIP through 12.1 innings, but there are signs Iglesias isn't quite in peak form -- his 94.5 mph average fastball is his lowest velocity since 2016, and his 18.0 percent strikeout rate is a massive drop from the 29.4 percent mark he delivered last season. His top velocity Wednesday was 95.3 mph, on a two-seamer to Luke Raley. Rotowire.com Today, 6:16 am
    • Tagged with loss in quality start
Bassitt (2-5) took the loss Wednesday, giving up three runs on four hits and a walk over six innings as the Blue Jays fell 6-1 to the Royals. He struck out four.

Advice: The veteran righty took a no-hitter into the sixth inning, but a leadoff double by Kyle Isbel kicked off a three-run frame for Kansas City, and with Seth Lugo also pitching extremely well, Bassitt had no margin for error. He tossed 62 of 92 pitches for strikes in his third quality start of the season, but Bassitt will carry a shaky 5.45 ERA, 1.68 WHIP and 34:18 K:BB through 36.1 innings into his next outing, which is scheduled to come on the road next week in Philadelphia. • Nico Hoerner reaches three times against Mets
Nico Hoerner went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, and a stolen base on Wednesday in a 1-0 win over the Mets.

Advice: Hoerner knocked a double in the first inning, then a single in the fifth. He drew a walk in the eighth to reach for a third time and stole second for his second steal of the season. Hoerner has hit out of the leadoff spot for the Cubs over the last two weeks, with both steals coming over that span. The 26-year-old second baseman is hitting .272/.349/.360 with 18 runs scored across 129 plate appearances. Hitting leadoff would help his stolen base rate if he can hold the top spot in the lineup. • J-Rod raises average to .270 with three more hits
Julio Rodríguez went 3-for-5 with a run scored on Wednesday in the Mariners’ loss to the Braves.

Advice: Rodríguez has clearly snapped out of an early-season funk at the dish with seven multi-hit performances in his last 13 contests over the past two weeks since April 17. The 23-year-old fantasy superstar has just one round-tripper through 31 games, but he’s managed to raise his batting average back up to the .270 mark, and has also chipped in seven steals as well. It’s just a matter of time before he starts hitting moonshots again. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:25 pm

    • Raisel Iglesias dodges traffic to net eighth save
Raisel Iglesias tossed a scoreless ninth inning on Wednesday against the Mariners to collect his eighth save of the season.

Advice: Iglesias was summoned to guard a three-run lead in the final frame and certainly made things interesting by issuing a leadoff walk to Luke Raley before giving up a single to ensuing batter Julio Rodríguez. He set down Mitch Haniger and Jorge Polanco before getting Cal Raleigh to ground out to preserve the victory. The 34-year-old veteran stopper has converted eight of nine save opportunities this season to accompany a sparkling 2.19 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 9/3 K/BB ratio across 12 1/3 innings (13 appearances). • Chris Bassitt gives up three-run homer in ldefeat
Chris Bassitt surrendered three runs in six innings Wednesday in a loss to the Royals.

Advice: Bassitt actually had a no-hitter going until the sixth, when the Royals mustered two singles and two doubles to take a 3-0 lead. The results will likely be there eventually, but the loss today leaves him 2-5 with a 5.45 ERA. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:49 pm
    • Kodai Senga tabbed for live bullpen on Saturday
Kodai Senga (shoulder) is scheduled to throw another live bullpen session on Saturday.

Advice: Senga faced live hitters on Monday without any issues, and he’ll repeat the process once again on Saturday. If all goes well there, he could be ready to begin a minor league rehab assignment. Barring any setbacks, he plans to be ready to rejoin the Mets’ rotation as soon as he’s eligible to do so on May 27. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:31 pm

    • Getting breather Wednesday
Turner is out of the lineup for Wednesday's tilt versus the Royals.

Advice: It's a routine maintenance day for Turner, who hit two home runs in the series opener Monday before going hitless Tuesday. Daniel Vogelbach will serve as the designated hitter Wednesday and also occupy the cleanup spot. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:06 am
