    • Freddy Peralta ejected Tuesday after hitting batter
Freddy Peralta was ejected from Tuesday’s start against the Rays.

Advice: Peralta was absolutely dealing in this one, striking out seven and allowing just two runs over 5 1/3 innings before he and Brewers manager Pat Murphy were both ejected by home plate umpire Chris Guccione in the sixth inning after Jose Siri, who homered earlier in the contest, was plunked by a 3-0 pitch. The ejection was made even more outrageous by the fact that Milwaukee held a five-run lead at the time. The 27-year-old righty will face the Royals on Monday in his next outing. • Gerrit Cole (elbow) continues flat-ground throwing
Gerrit Cole (elbow) continued flat-ground throwing on Tuesday.

Advice: Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters everything is going well with Cole’s throwing program, but the 33-year-old righty remains without a set date to resume throwing off a mound. The assumption remains that he’ll be ready to make his season debut at some point in late May. Rotoworld Today, 1:57 pm

    • Confirmed for Wednesday's start
Gallen (hamstring) will make his regularly scheduled start Wednesday against the Dodgers, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

Advice: Gallen's bullpen session earlier in the day went well, and skipper Torey Lovullo confirmed late Monday evening that the right-hander will indeed take the mound Wednesday after exiting his previous outing Friday due to hamstring spasms. Gallen owns a 3.38 ERA and 1.22 WHIP with a 35:9 K:BB across 32 innings this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:05 pm
    • Tosses bullpen Monday
Gallen (hamstring) threw a bullpen session at Chase Field on Monday, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

Advice: Gallen indicated Sunday that believes he'll be ready for his next scheduled start, which would tentatively line up for Wednesday, and Monday's bullpen backs up this optimism. Assuming he still feels strong Tuesday morning, there appears to be a good chance he'll toe the rubber later this week. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:00 pm
    • Zac Gallen (hamstring) throwing bullpen Monday
Zac Gallen (hamstring) is throwing a bullpen before Monday’s game against the Dodgers.

Advice: Gallen left Friday’s start against the Mariners with a hamstring issue, but the exit was deemed precautionary, and manager Torey Lovullo expressed that he was optimistic that Gallen would make his next start. Assuming all goes well with the bullpen session, that seems to check out for Wednesday’s start against the Dodgers. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:09 pm
    • Continues throwing on flat ground
Cole (elbow) threw on flat ground again Saturday, and Yankees manager Aaron Boone said the session went "really well," Max Goodman of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.

Advice: Cole has been playing catch on flat ground for about three weeks, extending his throwing distance up to 120 feet. Boone indicated early last week that the ace hurler is getting close to throwing off a mound, and that could happen as soon as this week. If Cole continues to progress without setbacks, he could feasibly be ready to join the Yankees' rotation when he's eligible to come off the 60-day IL in late May. • Framber Valdez picks up win in return from IL
Framber Valdez won in his return from the IL on Sunday, allowing two runs over five innings against the Rockies in Mexico City.

Advice: Sharp even without the benefit or a rehab assignment, Valdez struck out six and walked none today. He threw 71 pitches, which is right where Houston wanted him in his first start back from elbow inflammation. He’ll face the Mariners at home next time out. Rotoworld Sunday, 4:26 pm

    • Fans six in win
Valdez allowed two runs on five hits over five innings Sunday, striking out six and earning a win over the Rockies.

Advice: Valdez was activated from the injured list and made his first appearance since April 2. He coughed up a pair of runs in the second inning but otherwise looked solid. He forced 13 swinging strikes and his sinker touched 96 mph. Through three starts this season, Valdez has produced a 2.60 ERA with a 16:6 K:BB across 17.1 frames. He's currently projected for a home start against the Mariners next weekend. Rotowire.com Sunday, 4:08 pm

    • Career-high 12 strikeouts
Kirby (3-2) earned the win over the Diamondbacks on Saturday, hurling seven shutout innings while allowing two hits and two walks. He struck out 12.

Advice: Kirby wasn't playing around Saturday, fanning six of the first eight batters he faced en route to recording a career-high 12 strikeouts on the night. The right-hander has now hurled 12 shutout innings over his last two starts, and Saturday also marked the second time this season in which he's allowed only two hits. Kirby carries a 30:2 K:BB over five starts this month and has won his last two decisions. Rotowire.com Sunday, 7:01 am
