    • Jarren Duran reaches three times in win Wednesday
      Jarren Duran smacked an RBI triple, scored a run and drew a pair of walks as the Red Sox triumphed over the Giants on Wednesday evening at Fenway Park.

      Advice: Duran worked a walk off of Daulton Jefferies in the third inning and came around to score the go-ahead run on an RBI ground out off the bat of Rob Refsnyder. He then plated a run of his own with a two-out RBI triple that chased Jefferies in the fourth inning. He has done a nice job atop the Red Sox’ lineup to begin the season, slashing .269/.347/.400 with one homer, 15 RBI and nine stolen bases. Rotoworld 54 minutes ago
       
    • Solid rehab outing
      Cubs manager Craig Counsell said Wednesday that everything went well during Steele's (hamstring) rehab start with Triple-A Iowa, and the left-hander will meet with the team Friday after a Thursday workout, Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network reports.

      Advice: The 28-year-old hurt his hamstring in late March, but he's in the latter stages of his rehab program. It was only the first rehab outing for Steele, but if he checks out well Friday it's possible his next start comes with the big-league club. Rotowire.com Today, 3:25 pm

      Chris Bassitt surrendered three runs in six innings Wednesday in a loss to the Royals.

      Buehler (elbow) tossed five innings in a minor-league rehab appearance with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday, allowing one run on seven hits and no walks while striking out five batters.

      Advice: Buehler tossed 75 pitches in the outing, 11 fewer than he threw in his previous appearance. However, he completed five frames for the first time since beginning his rehab stint March 31. The right-hander's fastball topped out at 94.6 miles per hour, so he's not quite back to the velocity he displayed prior to his Tommy John surgery in August 2022. Nonetheless, Tuesday's start -- his sixth in the minors this season -- may have been Buehler's final step before rejoining the big-league rotation, as Dodgers manager Dave Roberts suggested prior to the outing that the hurler could make his next appearance with the big club, per Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic.       Christian Walker homered twice including a two-run homer in the 10th inning to give the Diamondbacks a 4-3 win over the Dodgers on Tuesday.

      Advice: In a game that was delayed due to a swarm of bees, Walker ended up creating the buzz. Sorry. The first baseman homered in the fourth inning off Landon Knack, but the big blow was a two-run shot in the bottom of the 10th off Nabil Crismatt to give Arizona the victory.       Ozzie Albies went 2-for-4 with an RBI in a loss Tuesday to the Mariners.

      Advice: Albies has driven in runs in both games against Seattle thus far. The switch-hitting infielder got Atlanta on the board in the eighth with a single to score Jarred Kelenic, and Albies is now up to 18 RBI on the season.       Jarren Durran went 3-for-4 with a run, an RBI, and a steal in a 4-0 win over the Giants on Tuesday.

      Advice: All three of Duran’s hits were singles but each of them was at least 107 mph off the bat. In fact, he had three of the six hardest-hit balls of the game. His stolen base was also his ninth of the season and the lead-off hitter is slashing .268/.338/.386. The power has not been there this year, but if Duran keeps hitting the ball hard and getting on base then he’s going to rack up steals and continue to be useful in fantasy leagues.
