    • Gets save chance in Phillips' stead
Vesia earned a save against the Marlins on Monday, striking out one batter in a perfect ninth inning.

Advice: When Evan Phillips (hamstring) was placed on the injured list Sunday, there arose uncertainty about whom Dodgers manager Dave Roberts would turn to when the next save chance came up. The answer turned out to be Vesia, who has been arguably the team's best reliever (outside of Phillips) this season with a 1.56 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 20:12 K:BB over 17.1 innings. The southpaw handled the opportunity well, retiring the side in order on 13 pitches, nine of which were strikes. It's worth noting that the Marlins were due to send up two left-handed hitters among the first three batters in the frame (though both lefties were swapped for a righty pinch hitter), so that may have played into the Roberts' decision to call upon Vesia rather than a righty reliever. It's too early to assume that Vesia will be the primary closer while Phillips remains out, but he certainly appears to be in the mix for save chances along with Daniel Hudson and possibly Blake Treinen. • Alex Vesia picks up save against Marlins
Alex Vesia pitched a scoreless ninth to get a save against the Marlins on Monday.

Advice: Vesia came in to protect a three-run lead and the southpaw was up to the challenge. That’s the first save of the season for the 28-year-old — and just the fourth of his career — and he lowered his ERA to 1.65 with the scoreless frame. He could see more save chances with Evan Phillips out with his hamstring injury, but nothing is for sure in this situation. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:30 pm
    • Getting start at shortstop
Stott will start at shortstop and bat seventh in Monday's game versus the Giants, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Edmundo Sosa handled shortstop for the Phillies in the team's first two games without Trea Turner (hamstring), but Stott will man the position Monday while Whit Merrifield plays second base. Stott is making his first start at shortstop since Game 6 of the 2022 World Series. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:15 am

    • Swats homer Sunday
Judge went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a double and a walk in Sunday's 5-2 victory versus Detroit.

Advice: A day after he was ejected from a game for the first time in his career, Judge belted a solo shot off Tarik Skubal in his first at-bat of the contest. The slugger added a sixth-inning double to notch just his second game with multiple extra-base hits this season. Judge is still slashing a meager .220/.350/.439 on the campaign, but he's batting .355 with three of his seven homers and seven of his 20 RBI over his past nine games. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:22 am

    • Leaves yard Sunday
Estrada went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer in Sunday's 5-4 loss to the Phillies.

Advice: Estrada gave the Giants some late life with a two-run blast in the seventh off Taijuan Walker, which ultimately knocked him from the game. The 28-year-old is riding a five-game hit streak and has six RBI over his last four games. In 12 games since April 21, Estrada is slashing .333/.364/.595 with two homers, nine RBI, six runs and a 1:5 BB:K. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:40 am

    • Handed first loss
Lodolo (3-1) yielded four runs on four hits and two walks over five innings Sunday, striking out six and taking a loss against Baltimore.

Advice: Lodolo got off to a rough start, coughing up three runs in the first inning. He held the Orioles in check afterward until Adley Rutschman knocked an RBI double in the fifth. Lodolo had allowed just five runs over 24 innings to begin his 2024 campaign before Sunday's hiccup. Despite the poor outing, he owns a 2.79 ERA with a 37:8 K:BB through five starts. He's currently in line to take the mound in San Francisco next weekend. Rotowire.com Sunday, 8:01 pm

    • Nick Lodolo struggles in start vs Orioles
Nick Lodolo allowed four runs on four hits in five innings in a loss to the Orioles on Sunday.

Advice: It wasn’t all bad for Lodolo, who struck out six and walked two while posting a 30 percent whiff rate and 31 percent CSW. Lodolo struggled out of the gates, allowing three runs on three hits in the first inning before settling down. The lefty now has a 2.79 ERA and should certainly be started next week against the Giants. Rotoworld Sunday, 5:46 pm

    • Aaron Judge leaves the yard in win on Sunday
Aaron Judge went 2-for-3 and launched his seventh home run of the season on Sunday as the Yankees defeated the Tigers.

Advice: Judge opened the scoring in the contest, crushing a 399-foot (109.3 mph EV) solo shot off of Tigers’ star southpaw Tarik Skubal in the home half of the first inning. He also doubled, drew a walk and struck out in the ballgame. On the season, the 32-year-old superstar is now hitting .220/.350/.439 with seven homers, 20 RBI and two stolen bases. • Goes deep in win
Jimenez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 5-1 win over the Cardinals.

Advice: Jimenez entered Sunday's matchup without a home run in his last six contests, but he was able to snap that streak with a solo shot, launching his fourth homer of the year in the top of the seventh inning off reliever Giovanny Gallegos. The long ball gave the team a 2-1 lead, and the right-hander has now recorded at least one hit in seven of his last nine games, batting .270 with two home runs, five RBI and six runs scored over that stretch.
