      Advice: X-rays on Fraley's hand came back clean after he exited Tuesday's contest versus the Padres following a hit by pitch.       The Rangers placed Gray on the 15-day injured list Thursday with a right groin strain, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

      Advice: Gray suffered the injury in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Phillies, and an MRI revealed a mild strain. He would seem to have a good chance at returning from the IL when his 15 days are up or shortly thereafter, but it will depend on how he recovers over the next several days.       Fried (4-2) earned the win over the Cubs on Wednesday, allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits in a complete game. He struck out nine.

      Advice: Fried dominated the Cubs' lineup in his second complete game of the season, retiring the first 15 batters he faced before surrendering a leadoff double to Ian Happ to open the bottom of the sixth. The lefty produced 18 whiffs in the contest and finished with a season-high nine strikeouts, while also not issuing any walks for first time in his last five starts.       Max Fried tossed a complete game, allowing two runs -- one earned -- with nine strikeouts in a win over the Cubs on Wednesday.

      Advice: Fried was outstanding on Wednesday against the Cubs. He had a perfect game going through five innings until Ian Happ led off the sixth with a double. A wild pitch put Happ on third before a groundout brought him in to score. Fried returned for a clean seventh inning before giving up one more unearned run on two hits and an error in the eighth. Fried finished out the complete game with a strikeout in the ninth. The 30-year-old left-hander struck out nine batters overall on 18 whiffs.
